I’m not gonna lie, the tip you gave about keeping the v pointed down lane was the perfect cue to keep me inside the ball. Bravo. Got a more consistent ball reaction because I can consistently make that mind body connection.

For a while there I didn't think you was gonna release that ball. And that little warm up was taught to me by our teachers in our instruction class over 50 years ago.😢

I use a lot more wrist for my throw, and i only use two fingers for the bowling ball

Mannn, just what I needed. I went bowling last night to work on my slide and swinging my arm back for power. Went from 12mph to 16mph. Issue is, at that speed, I'm struggling to keep my hand on the inside to properly get rotation on the ball.

What should we do with the thumb and the fingers in the ball? How does the ball being drilled affect the fingers in the ball when swinging? Release grip or thumb pressing against the ball with the nail?

Just wondering who has a technique that is a little bit different

I keep my hand above the ball, keep the logo facing the pins, take big steps and throw my ball 10-15 mph on average, and I have a 15 pound that doesn’t have the biggest hook potential when I throw it that’s because I keep it between the 2nd and 3rd arrows and sometimes 1st and 2nd arrows

And I know this won’t help everyone but I think about the arrows and then the pins

I do use this technique for most spares though

If you didn't want to use the approach, can you legally bowl this way in the PBA?

The 14lb ball I was fitted with at the shop is too heavy and I cannot get my hand below it to support the ball causing me to drop the ball straight down next to my right foot even before I can release it the proper way.

The hardest part of the release is keeping that hand inside during the swing, Keeping the elbow in-against the hip helps me !

Ring finger or middle finger leave the ball first?

I can't use my whole thumb. I cock my wrist to the left and barely rim the thumb hole with the tip of my thumb... For lack of a better way of putting it. I just can't cup the ball when using my thumb, either forearm strength is low or my wrist is weak. Been bowling for 17 years, I'm currently 34, and my league average is 207. I haven't had a 300 yet. /: Or an 800. My bests are 288 game and 774 three game series.
