Leighton fears God's word enough to not let himself hold a nonauthoritative position and try to defend it and that's always a good sign of a good teacher.

Always let the volume of the word be your stance and I truly believe this is Leighton's and Beyond the fundamentals positions and this is why I agree with these two brothers.

An amazing truth that scripture brings "forth" is that we should not focus on "free will", the term didn't exist until 4th century (I think that is close) what God has shown in scripture, is that we are "causal beings" basically...you "cause" you to believe or disbelieve (great example is Abraham, and Peter in Acts 10 regarding the vision). Others have "caused" themselves to disbelieve while others have caused themselves to believe. Beleiving the gospel is 100% the responsibility of man...and God has declared in His word that "those who disbelieve are condemned for they have not believed in the Son" (very poor paraphrase)

God PROVIDES wise counsel and REASON to believe in HIm.

Acts 17:2
“And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, ”

Acts 18:4
And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Persuade:
PROVIDE a sound reason for (someone) to do something.

Proverbs 20:18
“Every purpose is established BY COUNSEL: and with good advice MAKE WAR.”

You pointing to God's Goodness is essential. Calvinism gives us a dubious goodness (small 'g') that is hugely detrimental to believers under the sway of those trying to totally discredit the Good News and the Word of God.
If I wanted to destroy young Christians' faith, I'd quote Calvinists on how God doesn't love everyone and every theistic determinism statement they make to 'prove' why that God is unworthy of following.

If I believed God was as Calvinist say, I'd ask Him to change His mind, proving Calvinism isn't true — unless God predestined me to feel that way. (Wink emoticon.)

Dear Mr Flowers. I’ve been recommending your site to believers as I debate on posts concerning Calvinism. What happens sometimes as I’m sure you know - by Calvinists - is they say your a heretic. But as we both know according to them if you’re not a Calvinist then you’re an Arminian and a heretic.

That’s their knee jerk approach.
My question for you is sometimes they say you’re an open theist. I don’t believe in open theism or process theology and would never recommend anyone to listen to someone who believes that.
Can you confirm with me why they say that - and if it’s false explain how it’s false. If you are an open theist I will no longer recommend you. But I don’t believe you are. Thanks.

God already provided a church. It’s called Catholic. Look it up. It has the fullness of Gods Truth and puts all other half true versions of Christianity to shame :)
