thank you for this video!! I have adhd and forget to eat and then I end up only eating one meal the whole day so I struggle with eating enough calories in a day. In result I don’t have enough energy to get me going and feel fatigue hard by the afternoon. However I’ve been really prioritizing my health for the past few months and have been getting a lot better at being mindful with what I feed my body. I don’t calorie count but I do track my protein and slowly but surely i’m getting to know how my body feels with what I eat and how much :) anyway this video really helped me in my journey so thank you ❤️

Include protein in every meal
Avoid snacking
Eat nutritious meals which includes veggies fruits hard boiled eggs whole grains
Avoid oils sweets and junk food
Eat water rich food if you are feeling hungry to keep you full

All I know is that 40 years ago I first heard about calories in versus calories out. I started counting my daily calories and kept it around 1500 calories a day until I reached my goal. These days I consume 2000 to 2200 calories to maintain. I eat the foods that I like and eat mostly whole foods. That is simply because you get more satiety for fewer calories that way. I am never hungry. My weight has stayed at the recommended level of 185.
P.S. - I threw out my bathroom scale decades ago. I simply monitor the notches in my belt to see how I am doing. The only time I get weighed is when I go for my physical.

knowing about the resting metabolic rate has COMPLETELY changed everything for me. i had no idea that we’re capable of shedding that many calories purely by existing. i’ve been trying to discipline myself to focus on weight loss since the start of this year, and really i’ve just been trying to work out as much as i can and allowing myself to treat myself to food. i’ve also been trying to supplement alternatives in my foods for as you said, nutrient dense foods! it’s definitely difficult as i have developed an unhealthy relationship with food, i always find pleasure in eating delicious foods, but also have the unbearable guilt afterwards no matter what it is i’ve eaten. and because i’ve been so confused on how exactly calorie deficit is entirely possible, it’s been very discouraging seeing how many calories i’ve been losing working out in comparison to the calories i consume, cause with my understanding i felt i wasn’t in calorie deficit at all! but now knowing why calorie deficit is entirely possible, with just resting, and losing as many calories as we do, it all finally clicks and you’ve reignited a hope in me! genuinely, thank you for this quick video, i’ve gained so much knowledge just in the short 7 minutes! ❤

I still have to count my calories because even if I eat low calorie food still I might overeat .. but I started to get used so it’s not such a big deal

This video was so helpful!!! I’ve always heard be in a calorie deficit, but no one ever explains how. I never understood how you could be in one if you only burn ex 400 calories during exercise. Now I understand you burn some even not exercising!! Thank you 😊
