When you talked about peanut butter you didn't tell anybody get natural peanut butter with no salt, and at the process of natural peanut butter with no salt like almond butter is much better to eat or other nuts that is turned into peanut butter like cashews and other things that don't have salt.

Rice and lentils are very high carb and should be avoided. No way one should eat all of these every day. Too many calories and carbs.

Not a bad list overall, though I would cut out the brown rice. Yes, it’s better than white rice, but any grains spike blood glucose. I suggest adding in fatty fish and meat so diabetics can feel full without unnecessary blood glucose spikes. A good list though for those reluctant to eat fat and protein. Helpful video!

The only way to know what raises YOUR blood sugar is to test YOUR blood sugar 2 hours after eating!!! These are outdated info! I glucose tested myself for 2 weeks straight after everything I ate. There are foods that are on the do eat list that jacked up MY blood sugar! Nuts really bother me!So do almost all fruits except berries. So for now the only fruit I eat are berries and I don’t eat nuts. Nut milk doesn’t bother me because the nuts are soaked then squeezed out for the liquid but the nut protein is not consumed. I am going to reset myself ater 2 months of nut elimination to see if my body has reset itself.

I was diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago and I cut out all sweets, but my weakness is still coffee with creamer, I've done well aside from that, even lost lots of weight.

Afraid that I don't agree with some of your suggestions. Yes I realize this is the typical suggested diet for diabetics. The goal is to eliminate spikes in blood sugar so the doctor can prescribe a uniform dose of insulin. Preferred would be to lower your insulin requirement all together. I would suggest a diet that is primarily meat( as many types and cuts as you can find), seafood ( a wide variety of fish and shellfish), fats (eggs, butter, nuts, seeds, a small amount of avocados due to the amount of carbs, olives, meat fats). To that I would add two or three half cup servings of only low carb vegetables. Avoid all fruit, grains(including whole grains), potatoes, corn, rice, beans(yes all beans except for green beans that are low carb). I allow myself 12 carbs per day and have for the last 30 years and my blood work has remained fine. Always work with your doctor before making any changes to your diet because most diabetics will require a change in amount of insulin they require when changing their diet. Regardless of what you've heard a low carb diet is one of the most heart healthy diets you can eat. It will also allow you to lose weight if you need to and will provide you with a complete amount of nutrition.
