Some people think it’s fine to only have sugar in moderation. But, is it?

An interesting research paper out of the University of Alberta showed a significant increase in the risk of inflammatory bowel disease when they tested a short-term increase in sugar consumption.

Your good bacteria prefer fiber for fuel. Bad bacteria prefer sugar as fuel. When you feed pathogens the sugar they want, you can trigger all sorts of immune reactions. The good bacteria are fighting the bad bacteria, which causes an inflammatory condition.

When the ratio of good bacteria to bad bacteria is thrown off, a lot of gut inflammation and gut permeability issues (leaky gut) can occur. This can lead to autoimmune issues.

I really want to increase awareness on the point that it doesn’t take much sugar to create a problem. If you’re not consistently giving up sugar, you may want to try it and see what it does for your health.

I'm an adult male that was suffering from obesity. Two months ago, I found your YouTube channel and watched your videos, and implemented them in my daily life. I stopped eating sugar and starchy foods like bread, pasta and etc. I ate white meat and vegetables, and also I avoided sweet fruits because they contain sugar. The result was unbelievable, I lost around 12kg, My belly is smaller now, and I don't feel any pain in my back, I also sleep comfortably.

When I think of the way I ate as a child, it's amazing I didn't develop diabetes! All the sugary cereals, snacks, desserts and candy! No wonder I had so many cavities as a kid too!

I had runny nose and sneezed a lot almost every day. It started about eight years ago. I took AllerTec OTC medicine when I think I had enough of sneezing and runny nose. I didn't know what caused it because I never changed my diet. Last August on my birthday I decided not to drink anymore soda (I used to drink 1 can of soda everyday, maybe 2 on some days). After a week of not drinking soda, I noticed my sneezing and runny nose slowed down. After about a month it was gone.

I had a rotten gut with 5 to 8 bowel movements a day, stomach aches, and more. I went on the Keto diet and after 2 weeks my gut is so so healthy . I feel great. The first week my body freaked out I think and I crapped a lot 😂 but after the first week it all started slowing down and then into the third week I have gut health. It’s amazing. 20 years of bad gut guys.

I am a testament to that. I was on a sugar-free KETO diet + OMAD for a MONTH, after which I consumed some sugar in my tea and a few sweet cookies. WOW. I could notice how my body reacted negatively to this sugar intake the very next day. That night, my sleep was affected, after having had relatively improved sleep during that month-long KETO and OMAD. I knew without a doubt it was the sugar that did it. Guess what? I'm back on a sugar-free diet again, after two days of bad side effects of sugar.

Sugar is very addictive. Stopping it is hard and not easy! But the health benefits are tremendous. Start with cutting back and go from there.

It is so hard to go past the craving for sugar but I did it. There is not a teaspoon of sugar that could be found in my pantry or whole house x 2 months now and I feel great.

I can't say that I'm strict to keto, but i minimized my carbs and lowered my portions. Even with that adjustment i lost 23lbs and i can tell when i eat the wrong things by the immediate reaction i get.

I've never been a heavy drinker, but I liked a beer now and again. After doing keto and fasting for 18 months, beer tastes like a bottle of fizzy sugar now.
I hardly drink at all now, but when I do, I settle for tequila or gin with sparkling water. Most of the time I'll just have the water.
I learned that it can take up to 3 days to get into ketosis, but it only takes one bottle of beer to kick me out of ketosis.

Thank you so much dr berg for this video. Finally, now I get to know why I got IBS. Earlier I was consuming a lot of sugar on daily basis and then I got IBS I cannot figure out why I got IBS. Since then I am doing keto and IF and now I have no symptom of IBS. Thank you so much for curing my syndrome. Thank you so so much

I quit sugar again 2 weeks ago but I had a little egg nog for 2 days in a row (2-3 oz) that ends today. I felt myself slipping but this video just smacked some sense into me 😂

i haven't stopped eating sugar completely yet, but has lessen, eliminated soda, even stopped baking so as to limit sugar intake. IF 16/8. I've been doing these for almost three months now. So far no GERD symptoms, and also my thyroid nodules got smaller. Thank you Dr. Berg for helping so many people. I also share your videos to friends and love ones with health issues.
