I'm the damp person. I've been eating mostly veggies for years. I have a boatload of sensitivities. I meal plan would have been nice im sure there are foods that should not be eaten together. Great insight thanks for sharing

Hi. What if you’re a mix? High anxiety, larger body type, sensitive to stimulants and cinnamon, can’t be too hot and loves the cold, acne, bad digestion…..

I genuinely feel like I'm a mixed both, used to eat a lot before, but now I can barely eat much as I'm always bloated, but I have always suffered from sinus issues, weak knees, cracking joints however.

I had a slow metabolism however.

Is it possible to be both? Asking for myself :/

This was such an eye-opener! I have been wondering about why some dieting trends work for some people, but don't work for others. Thank you!!

Wow. I already knew quote a bit about the TCM paradigm but I was still blown away. Every single thing about the cold damp was a fit for me.

I'm a hot one! But I am super sensitive to coffee. I always feel better when I eat more veggies so thank you for the reminder. I love your channel!

Super helpful. I am the first and my partner the second with a wee bit of overlap. That explains my love for meat and warm food and he wants more bread and salad.

I'm Taiyin type, like what you said in the video I'm very sensitive to coffee. Despite coffee and tea are both caffeine drinks, I find that coffee suites me better than tea, tea is considered colder than coffee (in TCM perspective). I also have sinus issues, whenever I drink too much green tea my nose got worse. Coffee somewhat can clear dampness (with the right amount) and support my digestive system. Would love to hear your opinion about coffee and tea from the TCM perspective in future videos.

Wow the cold constitution described me perfectly...also when I tried doing the green smoothies everyday I felt awful. But I feel great eating stews and hot spicy food! Is intermittent fasting bad for this constitution?

one thing im surprised is the importance of kidneys and to stay away from meat protein when you get old...its so coincidental with the modern scientific caution when youve got kidneys damaged...kidneys are greatly decisive when youve got aged...

My constitution is Yin. However I find that what’s missing in this video is achieving balance. TCM was born out of the Ancient Indian wisdom of Ayurveda. I religiously followed by Ayurvedic body type (Yin) to the point I had too much heat in my body - resulting in a dry and fissured tongue. I think it will be useful to see a video on everyday diet vs seasons, because clearly one extreme doesn’t work!

Hi, thank you for your video. I’ve always been very interested in Chinese medicine. The question I have for you is this, the two types of people you described here. I was a perfect mix of both. Are there more types that could be explained that offer diet suggestions? Thank you

I am skinny, 5’6” 120 lbs, toned muscular, about 8 %body fat, I do well with veggies, im very sensitive to coffee and energy drinks, im usually overheating faster than others…what you’re talking about really i see it as being a mixed of both

Smoothies and cold icy drinks are in general not good for the guts no matter what. The smoothies trend is damaging. It's also less beneficial to drink the fruit's juice rather than eat the whole fruit, and use our teeth to do so.

Oh my I have symptoms of both. It's very confusing.

Hi Alex,
I recently watched another video of yours and found this very helpful so I continue to look through your channel and I found this video.
I found myself in one category and my wife in another which I am very happy because and I can start to help her with many of these problems that she’s been experiencing and you were pointing out that they are diet related.
Thanks again for the expertise, I work at Kamalaya where we practice Chinese medicine, although I am in the fitness department I am now more eager to talk to the TCM doctors to learn more about this.
Thanks again Alex

I'm the first to like yipee 😂 I'm the cold damp body type, love dairy so am.not giving that up, don't drink celery juice as am allergic to celery, never have issues with my sinuses or a stuffy nose, used to be prone to catching colds, but haven't had a cold in over 13 years never get the flu and don't get the flu jab, just happen to be drinking a warming herbal tea with ginger cinnamon and cardamom, its hot 🔥 and spicy

Would this advice apply for men also? I definitely can relate to certain things in the second group.
