That's a great journey. I started in 2023 year at 307lbs. I'm now 192lbs. Intermittent fasting/OMAD, not eating out, going to the gym 4-5 times a week. I look back at pictures of me from then and am horrified of how I let my weight get out of hand. It's a good motivator for me to not ever get back to that point. I'm glad I have tools that work for me now, so I can always rely on that.

I love your positivity and honesty. First vid I've seen. I lost over 6 stone (90lbs) or so in 2009-2011. I now realise that my relationship to food was quite unhealthy in that time and I've been slowly unpicking those tangled threads.
I put some weight back on after my first baby was born in 2016, a little over 2stone. Difficulty with fertility later really motivated me again in 2021 and I lost it all in the space of two months. We were in lockdown in Ireland and I walked ever day and tracked the calories 😮 and it definitely helped us produce another heir apparent. Now she's nearly two and I have a work from home job and I've put some back on. I'm amazed that just by tracking calories (nothing crazy because I'm bf) and getting 12000 steps a day is really working. Even at 42.
Next step is to start weight training but I've no idea where to start. I want to do it not just for the short term goals but because I want to keep my strength and muscle tone going.

I was fairly slim till my mid 20’s, got put on some medication for my mental illness that made me insanely hungry and carb cravings, got off that particular medication now I’m working hard to reverse all the damage, thanks for the inspiration

Love your story. It’s a journey isn’t it. My whole life I tried every crazy diet. Did tons of insanity. Was a beachbody coach. Worked out too much at time. Got injuries. Did fasting. Keto. Paleo. Lost and regained the same 20 pounds many times. Feb I found perimenopause weight. Started eating high protein (goal weight in grams) walking 10, 000+ steps. Drinking a gallon of water. Finished 75 hard. Continuing a lot of the program as it’s easy to eat the high protein. I’ve dropped 22 pounds since March 1. Still gave 20 pounds to go. Starting to lift weight now in addition to the steps.

Thank you for sharing your story. I really appreciate the format and honesty.

I'm another random person on the internet who struggles with their weight. I still struggle and felt like I've tried every approach (Keto, OMAD, IF, etc) and it always seems to come back. I consistently go to CrossFit a few times a week which has seemed to help with muscle gain and overall endurance.

Nice to see all it really takes is consistency and a little bit of tracking what you do to change things around (and movement of course). I'm 14 days into my 10k steps a day and try to keep it going. It's the only thing I changed but I'm already seeing some weight loss (1-2kg). Also trying to implement 8-16 fasting. Consistency is key!

MY DUDE, YOUR TRANSFORMATION IS NOT ONLY INSPIRING TO ME, IT'S INCREDIBLY REALISTIC. YOU LOST THE WEIGHT OVER SUCH A LONG, HELATHY PERIOD OF TIME. SOMETIMES I SEE THESE CRAZY VIDEOS ABOUT LSOING A 100 POUNDS IN 3 TO 6 MONTHS AND THEY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE SUCH A LOSER, BUT THE WAY YOU DID OVER TIME IT'S THE WAY I WANT TO DO IT. I CAN'T BELIEVE I SAW ABS ON YOU BROTHER. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT, NOT THAT ABS ARE WHAT MATTER BUT WE KNOW THAT TO HAVE THEM YOU MUST BE AT A VERY LOW BODY FAT PERCENTAGE. KUDOS TO YOU BROTHER. THANKS FOR SHARING.

Great journey you did the work and walked the extra mile that matters.
I started on february 14th this year with 170kg by a height of 180cm. Tomorrow (exactly 6 months later), to this day I lost over 42kg of weight by increasing my walking and exercising intensity steady, maintained a consistent diet with intermidiate Fasting on a high protein intake with low carb intake).
Oberall I learned a lot about myself, that the process keep time and you have to see the weight lose as an marathon not as an sprint.
I wish you and everybody else the much needed toughness and dicipline too keep going.

Glad to hear from a fellow Oregonian who is dedicated!

I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life as well. Getting ahold of it finally and pushing through the ups and downs

Awesome video! I’m down 65 pounds to date. Trying for 100lbs in 6 months. Feeling really good. I’m doing IF with rules. I don’t drink any calories. Snacks are fruit and nuts. I eat whatever my wife sends me for lunch and I eat whatever she makes for dinner. I try not to go back for seconds. So far it’s worked!

Keep going bro, great video! You definetly are lucky concerning the relaxed/ slow approach. I guess too many people find themselves setting unrealistic goals and especially unrealistic behavioural changes. If you like pizza and you try to abandon it from your life entirely from one day to the other you are basically programmed to fail miserably and do more harm than good. So your flexdieting approach is propably key to your journey. Love it, keep it up!

I have been lean my whole life because I was on the football team since little league. I used to be 22 years old, 5’10” and 170lbs. I worked out regularly in college and then Covid hit, I stopped working out, and I got my first desk job. Fast forward 3 years and I’m (seemingly) suddenly up to 205lbs. It’s crazy how fast it sneaks up on you hahaha. I got a new gym membership yesterday so thanks for the motivation!

Really dig your comment about how you didnt overthink anything. You were “kinda” doing intermittent fasting… you were kinda tracking steps and calories, but at the end of the day something clicked mentally and you stayed consistent with exercise and weren’t excessively eating 5 days in a row without doing something good for your body etc. Congrats on the success and good luck going forward. Cheers

Thank you for your honesty and upbeat take on a journey that some many struggle to achieve. Stay healthy, keep the weight off, and train for the rest of your life. I am on a similar journey from 300 to under 200, and your story was very motivating to me. Wishing you much good health and success in life. Cheers.

Great video Scott! I like how you talked about not restricting anything and still eating ice cream, pizza etc. Totally agree with doing something you can stick to forever!

Great job Scott, truly impressive self awareness. Weight loss and body transformation is more about life style changes, not just the diet. I am a marathoner and triathlete but have an unhealthy relationship with food. Yearly drop 10 lbs and add 15lbs after my event. For the first time in 10 years I am eating totally clean and feeling great. I am losing weight slowly but feeling amazing. I have lost 20lbs. Over the past 8 weeks. I still need to lose 30 lbs but I am really happy with slow progress. I loved your video. Well done.
