To Calvinists: Why is there not one bible verse that explicitly states that regeneration precedes faith?

"Regeneration precedes faith" contradicts & violates Jn. 3:18.

"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

The regenerated have life & are NOT condemned while still in disbelief.

Faith comes by hearing & hearing by the Word of God Romans 10:17 (Notice no one randomly goes "POOF" one day). See also Ephesians 2:11-13 (Notice: "at that time you were without Christ...no hope & without God...But now in Christ Jesus). See also Galatians 4:8-9).

The antidote to the poison of calvanism is often found in the same chapter that they misunderstood as teaching calvanism.

1)Elected by the father before the foundation of the world to be in Christ.
2) Life being given
3) Faith being granted from life in step 2
4) Repent and believe in Jesus
5) Finally regenarated. Given NEW second life!!

Very odd order!! Jesus is in step 4 and he is clearly not the way rather part of the way. There is this life (Step 1) given to the elect apart from Christ to be granted eternal life (Step 2)!

If you have the ability to have faith apart from God changing a heart of stone to a heart of flesh as taught in scripture, why do you even need to be regenerated?

Everyone who is believing in Christ as their savior has been given that ability by the Holy Spirit so that we dont think it was human wisdom because it was God who did it.

You mean making sense of things that are eternal coming into realization with time-space. In eternity past God chose His elect and that isn't actually realized in this realm until regeneration; I wouldn't assume to know or question the mind of God and ask Him "why didn't you regenerate me until I was 30 years old".

John Calvin actually teaches that it’s a both and.

Regeneration proceeds faith, and faith proceeds regeneration.

This is because regeneration isn’t just some metaphorical thing, it’s the influence of the Holy Spirt upon our hearts. He at once both comes into our hearts, breathes faith into us, then for us to again cry Abba, Father, with that very same breathe.

What the Bible teaches however, and what the Reformed Christians rightly defend, is that salvation is of God alone, and faith is a gift of God.

In John chapter 3, Jesus makes it clear that being born again comes from the Holy Spirit. We were born of flesh from our parents, but born again in our spirit from the Holy Spirit. You had nothing to do with your physical birth (flesh) in the same way you have no part in the spiritual birth (born again). And by the way, the Holy Spirit and Jesus are completely unified in harmony. So being born of the Holy Spirit is being given life by Christ. We are a new creation like Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:17. Surely you cannot recreate yourself. Also if you do birth yourself you have something to boast about. Glory be to God alone! Reformed Theology is what made the Protestant Reformation possible, but sadly most Christians today call themselves Protestant but deny the Theology of it. May God by his Spirit through his Word lead us to Truth.

Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
