FAST Pain Relief in a Whistle 😙 #shorts

Quick and easy pain relief option that fits in your pocket? Penthrox inhaler (known as the "green whistle") is a small but mighty tool that's changing how we manage acute pain! The #GreenWhistle is a handheld device that contains methoxyflurane, an inhaled analgesic that provides rapid #painrelief for trauma patients. Originally used as an anesthetic in the 1960s, #methoxyflurane has found new life as a self-administered pain management solution.
.
Here's how it works:
1. The patient inhales the medication through the whistle-like mouthpiece
2. Pain relief begins after just 6-8 breaths
3. Effects can last up to 30 min per dose
.
Key benefits:
• Fast-acting: Onset within minutes
• Self-administered: Patients control their own pain relief
• Portable: No needles or IV setup required
• Versatile: Effective for various types of acute pain
The #Penthrox inhaler is especially useful in emergency and pre-hospital settings. Paramedics can quickly provide pain relief at the scene of an accident. It's also gaining popularity in emergency departments for procedures like setting fractures or changing burn dressings. While generally safe (used as directed), it's important to note that methoxyflurane can have side effects like dizziness or nausea and is not recommended for consecutive day use due to potential kidney effects at high doses. From battlefields to ambulances to hospital rooms, the Penthrox inhaler is proving to be a game-changer in pain management. Its simplicity and effectiveness make it a valuable tool for healthcare providers and patients alike.

They need to bring this back for use on ambulances in the U.S. So much better for small to medium injuries like broken bones, twisted or dislocated joints, and burn pain.

Convenient that this was recalled around the same time the big pill mills were starting up

This will reduce trauma and stress, which will improve healing and quality of life afterward. People are more stable when they are comfortable, also safer to treat. Sometimes hurting people go wild and bite and punch.

I was longboarding broke multiple bones and exploded a testicle, the doctors and nurses treated me like i was lying, for 2 hours in immense pain, they did a scan and saw broken bones and an exploded testicle and then they gave me dilaudid and morphine shot meds, but before that all the docs and nurses treated me like shit honestly

This is a need in the U.S. especially with road rash and burns. What they give you doesn’t work and is addictive so I rather not use the pills. Too bad greed is more important than pain.

I like how they stopped using the whistle in the U.S., and now use fentanyl injections, instead. Muuuuch safer.

I’m happy it’s legal in Mexico, it’s tremendously useful.

Pain in general IS REAL. One random Tuesday when I was 16, all of a sudden i got hit with such intense abdominal pain I actually passed out on my way to the bathroom at my grandma’s house and after she rushed me to the hospital, it turned out I had a cantaloupe sized cyst that twisted off the blood supply to my ovary (ovarian torsion). The pain was horrendous, it was like literal torture, and they gave me NOTHING for pain in the 4-5 hours before surgery! Then after being sliced open from hip to hip, I got a couple of pain medicine shots in recovery which really didn’t help much at all and caused my IV site & arm to get really red, hive-like bumps & swollen (turns out I’m allergic to the med they gave me, Toradol), then after that they only gave me Tylenol and ibuprofen, even tho I was curled up in a ball on the bed, bawling in agony the entire time. My grandma kept begging the nurses to please help me, but they said there wasn’t anything else they could do and she didn’t really know any better, she just trusted them. They sent me home with a prescription for 800mg ibuprofen and it couldn’t even touch the pain I was in. It’s truly inhumane the way a lot of doctors in the US treat their patients.

We have this in Canada. Broke my wrist and collarbone while mountain biking and had to be sent in an ambulance. Best stuff ever! Works like a charm😂

I was given it while having a dystonic reaction. Imagine contracting your muscles as hard as you possibly can and then add 10% more. Absolute hell on Earth to go through but after only about five minutes of using it my symptoms went away and gave me enough time to get to the hospital and get muscle relexants. It is harmless when used sparingly and works wonders.

Damn, they didn't give me anything when I broke my wrist.... They took painful x-rays, doctor walked in, two nurses came in, the nurses held my shoulders down, doctor grabbed my wrist, started talking to me and then bam! Popped it into place and put it in a cast, not one drop of damn meds... I'm pissed after watching this that shyt hurt so damn bad... I was only in 9th grade...

This would be great to treat drug withdrawals in the US that's why they got rid of it of course

Fracture pain is so definitely real! Three months later, from my last accident, I still have some pain, especially when the weather is damp or cold. I have had 5 fractures in my lifetime. 😬🤯
