** WHAT IS SCIATICA?
“Sciatica” is pain, numbness, tingling, or burning that typically starts in your lower back or glute and travels down the back of your leg. It is the characteristic presentation of some sort of irritation to the sciatic nerve.

** WHAT CAUSES SCIATICA
These sensations of numbness, tingling, or pain are the result of an irritation to the sciatic nerve. Whether it’s a disc in your back, your vertebrae, or a muscle - anything that impinges and puts pressure on the sciatic nerve can result in sciatica nerve symptoms.

** BEST EXERCISE TO TREAT SCIATICA
Now depending on the exact cause of your sciatica, the treatment exercise progression looks a little different. For example there are certain exercises I would give to a patient with sciatica from a bulged disc that I absolutely would NOT recommend for someone with sciatica from stenosis or degenerative disc disease (it’s crucial that you check with a local healthcare provider for exercises specific to your unique diagnosis).

While these various pathologies are all treated a little differently, today I wanted to demonstrate for you the one exercise I give the majority of my patients regardless of the cause of their sciatic nerve pain.

** THE BEST EXERCISE FOR SCIATICA NERVE PAIN
Think of your nerve as a “string” (or “floss) from your back to your big toe. Somewhere along the course of this nerve, something is “pinching” the nerve and causing pain (or numbness or tingling) sensations. What we need to do is “stretch” or “floss” this nerve back and forth to free it up from this “pinching” and decrease the painful nerve signals. This is best accomplished with “nerve glides” or “nerve flossing”.

I'm from India and 25...been suffering from bulging disc since 2 years and sciatica since 2 months. I'm only 26, and I work in a chiropractic clinic. I hear patients all the time talking about their debilitating sciatica pain. The last few days, I've been noticing a lingering sorness in the exact area on my left side... I found this video, started stretching, and it's almost gone :) This video has great stretches for the exact areas I'm looking for! Thanks for all the help

When I did PT, they only showed the nerve glide. The ankle pump is something I was unaware of. It worked wonders! Was having trouble walking today, but after doing those exercises for the disc bulge, I started to feel relief. And the numbness faded too. Thanks, doc!

Thank you very much! I’m a nurse and have been experiencing more and more sciatica and back pain over time, I think due to the physicality of my work. I did a few minutes of these exercises and have already experienced huge relief! I still feel some tightness but will continue your regimen. I’m so happy. 🙏

Got home from work and had been feeling so much pain all day from the bottom of my back down to my leg. I was worried I was going to pinch the nerve and be unable to walk from the pain, so I started looking through youtube. Your stretches helped me immensely and I feel so much relief. I am a construction worker where I used to lay hollow blocks in a stooping position.
In the afternoon, I always feel pain on my buttocks down to the back of my two legs!
I tried your excercises and helps a lot to at least walk in and outside my residence!!!

I randomly felt this sudden tingling and numbing pain on my left buttocks down to my leg specially when i sit quite a while. And recently the pain is really there everytime i sit down. I just came across your video and I want to thank you!!! I’ve been suffering from sciatic pain for I want to say 4 years. I’ve been to a chiropractor and he’s helped me lot but I have since then fallen on my back 2 times. And my pains have returned. I came came across this video and it has helped me alleviate the pain in less then 5 minutes of doing these exercises!!! I’m going to start doing these daily and see what happens. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to teach people how to relieve their pain. I do these exercises every morning as soon as I wake up and I just started doing them before going to bed at night. A year ago I was diagnosed with a vertebral subluxation but the chiropractor just showed that she doesn't know anything cause two months after my last visit, I was having sciatica pain and I don't understand how she failed to recognize that I have sciatica problems. I know about it cause my former chiropractor, who unfortunately died of ovarian cancer in 2019, diagnosed me with lumbar radioculopathy but thanks to you, I can wear my high heels again since I don't feel ankle pain anymore. I was just recently diagnosed with Sciatica and found your website which was a blessing. i do have to go to a Pain Management doctor and wanted to look for options I can do also for sciatica pain. They work. I’m 80 At 67 I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. The ortho Doc wanted to do surgery. Fortunately I got a second opinion and a good PT guy who gave me a series of stretching exercises including the ones you demoted. Also maybe a couple of bulging disc. I haven’t had real pain since. My back does get “tired” if I do a lot of work over 3 hours but no real pain. I do my exercises and light weight work Monday Wednesday and Friday. I’m in much better condition than my peers who’d haven’t had stenosis.

In chronic pain every day .
Don't give up guys .
I use this exercise s and I Don't go running to the Doc .
Know your body and respect it .
