I had sciatica back in 2016 when I was 21. It went away on its own, but I have it again now at age 28. I threw out my back a month ago and once I got better, sciatica kicked in. I've been doing some of these exercises from different videos for the last couple of days. Every day I do the exercises, the pain is decreased lightly. It's taking some time, but it's working.

Cross legged from sitting and then bending forward with a straight back also works to release. A litle movement from side to side while leaning forward helps even more.

This helps a little, but after I get up and a few minutes pass is back to full blown pain... :(
Sadly even if doped up I still feel a dull ache through my legs... used to just be the left all the time, now it's both.
When I was young, 16, a driver blew a light, T-boned us (I was a passenger with my sister), and after that, I needed to have surgery for a herniated disc. Unfortunately, I was later hit by a drunk driver, causing yet a second surgery. Over the next few years I had 2 more low back surgeries, that likely could have been avoided, as the sciatica just got worse... turned out I also had Multiple Sclerosis that was not initially diagnosed until I stated having neck issues, it was likely MS symptoms, but the disc that were herniated by mildly so.
I'm 42, have the MS under wraps mostly, well as much as possible with that disease. But the spinal issues, constant sciatic pain and back/neck aches... it's a miserable existence and the only relief I've found is with narcotics... which is a whole other bag of problems. They work, it's too bad that given the societal problems with opioids currently, I'm constantly under scrutiny and have difficulty accessing a medication that works... I get it, it just sucks for folk like myself, that find themselves in the awful position of being dependent on such a stigmatized (whether legitimate or not) medicine...

Maybe one day, they'll just shoot me up with some magic stem cell treatment that grown the some right back to pre injured status... of course in America it'd likely be way too expensive to actually get...ugh.
