Low Impact Walking Workout for Beginners, Seniors | 1 Mile Walk at Home

We did my Mom’s 1 Mile walk at home, and now we’re sharing April’s low impact walking workout for beginners, seniors. I complete my walk in about 22 minutes with about 2700 steps and my Mom catches up at about 25 minutes with about 3000 steps. We keep it fun by doing 30 second intervals of different walking movements with 30 seconds of classic walking!

My husband and I are in our late 60s. We've been homebound due to really low temperature and ice outside. We've been doing a variety of your videos most every day. We feel we're stronger than when we were walking for more minutes (but more slowly) outside. Thanks so much for your wonderful contribution to our health and happier days.

I decided to challenge myself by doing both Mom's and April's 1 Mile Walks (1 each morning and afternoon), and truly pushed it with both. Whenever possible, whenever the arms weren't engaged, I made sure to raise them to intensify the cardio benefit, backed by increasing the speed of the exercises and walking. Aiko's ever-elusive hotdog seems to be her inspiration which is infectious. Now I'm wondering how a HUGE one will challenge the toilet paper routine. Loved being in on the fun you both had. Aiko met the challenge with a smile on her face the entire time! Thank you, April, for your imaginative and never stale routines...Anastasia

I found your channel and my husband and it have been doing some 25 minute workouts for the last few days. We are going to make time to do one every day! We’re 56 and 58. I told his parents about it, because they’re 83 and 85 and his dad has had some falls over the last 6 months due to balance and leg weakness. I sent them the YouTube link and they started with a walking workout yesterday. They loved it! I am so happy that you do this with your mom. It really made a difference in my in-laws starting this program. They can relate. Thank you, thank you! We love you you two. Your mom is so adorable!

I just found your videos. I am 61, over weight and have joint issues. I tried a walking club after work, but I have no energy for it. I started using different videos for different body strengthening and cardio. This one has me feeling sore, but good. It is the start of my day, so I had enough energy. Thank you for these videos.

Thank you so much for this video. It was very easy exercise but I sweat so good and it’s my period week now so I was not able to do hard workouts but this workout was amazing. I also love the reminders you say to the cute old lady. It was so good to hear that “go with my own bodies pace” because I’m overweight and it can be very hard for me to do so quick exercises. After doing your new Rucking inspired video yesterday I decided to add the weighted backpack while doing this workout as I do daily. As an active 80 yo I like adding weight bearing and had already ramped it up to include leg lifts rather than toe taps and jogging around the house during the walking sections. I love working out with you and Aiko daily and thank you so much for sharing your helpful and enjoyable videos 💜
