Hey! Today we're going to do a targeted exercise for piriformis syndrome. This exercise combats pain in the buttocks and leg area. It can also resolve pain in the lower back. Afterwards we will do a little fascia rolling massage with our fascia ball.

L & B, this is the best channel on PT on the Web. You instruct clearly, describe the exercises fully, and also describe the workings of the anatomy and nervous system. I'm 71 yo, and suffer with Spondyliosis / facet Joint arthritis in my entire spine. I have come to learn that maladies in the Spine affects your entire Well being. From the Top of your head to your toes. I have a shorter right leg - 1 inch - sustained as a result of a American Football injury of a fractured right Femur in 1966 (age 15). When the Bosy cast came off after 3 months, my right leg was 1 inch shorter. It was left Unaddressed by the Ortho Doctor and my parents. After 15 yeasr or so, the lower back aches started. More stiffness than pain, but now that has Gravitated to major affects to my spine including sites of disc bulges, Degenerated Disc disease (DDD), Sites of stenosis, and Dextroscoliosis of 25 degrees. Now there is chronic pain & stiffness to the top of my head (yes, we have skull bones too). The Cervical Instabilities affecting the Vagus Nerve contribute in a big way to the Misery Index. Tinnitus, eye pain, Chronic sinusitis, IBS /GERD, TMJ, Shoulder pain, Forward head posture, and even bouts of Bladder and Bowel incontinence. I have come to learn of the Piriformis Muscles and the SI joints as Vital parts of the entire body. As one Rheumatologist told me in 2018 (she was checking me for Anklyosing Spondyliosis (AS), that the SI joints are Ground Zero for total Spinal ailments - it all goes Up and Down from there. Acupuincture has done really nothing for me (45 sessions), 6 Chiropractors have helped very little (you need to be careful with Chiros as they can make matters worse too). I keep up searching for relief from the daily distress of Chronic Pain- yielding Chronic anxiety / misery /depression. THX so much for these videos with direct non commercial content to help PEOPLE!

Do you have an alternative exercise for larger bodies that can't support themselves on their arms? Also my siatica pain stops me from folding my knee backwards.
