I just found your channel and subscribed. Sitting at a desk all day coding has wrecked my posture. Then I go to the gym and just reinforce the damage. This is the kind training I need to be doing to unlock my movement. It's like learning to be young again. Great content good sir. 🙏 🤝

Whoa thank you so much for your work! I'm young but I've been frustrated by an uneven feeling in my hips when walking and it's been difficult to figure out what's causing it. Your video has been really clear and concise on such a little known topic and might open a door to enjoying simply walking for a lot of people. Wish your channel will grow much more to help a lot of others.

I see what you are trying to tell here. I have bad overpronation and flexible flat feet since my birth. I'm 18 yo and still didn't manage to fix this problem. I think the main reason why I didn't manage to fix it is because I was born as a tall and heavy baby (4.5kg) and continued to walk on only hard smooth terrain (podiatrists and my parents failed to notice how bad of a problem that is). Podiatrists prescribed me orthotics and only one of them told me to walk on a rocky beach, but still failed to mention importance of that as I never took it too seriously. I stopped wearing orthotics at 16 and now I'm left with a bad problem 😬 I see that side plank with abduction is crucial to fixing overpronation as it decreases the load on your feet by training gluteus medius. It produces 89-103% MVIC dependent on whether the dominant leg is on top or bottom which is higher than any other exercise! (you can search this up easily as a study was done on this) Recently, my orthotic maker measured over 50% pressure in my left heel and I must say that I ended up in a hospital before with severe pain in my left hip and I'm very certain that was caused by playing football in narrow football shoes and overstriding.

I now walk in Xero shoes almost exclusively and must say that they provided me almost immediate relief on my hips and back. Still, I have pain in my ankles because my arches are weak.
So I ask, is there any good five finger socks I can wear so I can go on and simply walk in them on trail? I know Injinji, but I don't see anyone mentioned running trail in them lol.

Very informative video. I have functional hip hike on L side plus pain with shoulder, and neck. Should I do this exercise on both sides, or just L side? Also sit cross legged on floor a lot, does this contribute to problem?

Hey Mark, i love the advice and research you provide on your channel. Has done much to help me optimize rounding out my fitness and health. I was wondering if you had any recommendations for 'professional' looking barefoot footwear. Trying to round out my selection and haven't quite found something that fits the bill in that area

What are your thoughts on the hip airplane? I’ve been doing the big 3, including side planks, w mixed results. The hip airplane seems to be working the best so far. Are there any similar exercises you’d recommend?

I noticed a lot of Sub-Saharan activity after eat a particular fruit and sometimes peanut butter. Just curious what your opinion/recommendations are.
