narcist people see being nice as a weakness

Silence is best in some toxic environments because articulating your feelings sometimes is used against you.

"People treat you how you allow them to treat you".
I wish I'd learned this so much earlier in my life it would have saved me from a lot of exploitation and downright abuse.

Narcissistic people have always been drawn to me, I couldn’t figure out why. I just try to be nice and do unto others, I had to stop that … it’s best when first meeting to be somewhat stoic in my experience

I've been fighting back my entire life, family, "friends" and relationships. Lots of toxic Narcissistic people. I'm absolutely exhausted... Being abandoned to raise kids alone for 20 years has finished me off. Lots of stress and health problems is the prize. I keep my inner circle very small now.

I still have to learn this. How to be harsh to those who have no good intentions.

I've said this for years. Don't take shit from people and people will give you less shit. However there are moments in your life where doing nothing to a harassing person can be the right thing to do.

I've been told I'm intimidating. I didn't take it as a compliment. But despite my openness and compassion it has protected me.

So true! Don't be a chicken, fight for your right to free speech. Be well read so you know what you are doing. Know that God is with you.

"Be careful what you give up!" Man does that hit home hard. I haven't seen my granddaughter in 6 months (who I love more than life itself) because I "stopped producing a tyrant aka would no longer deal with the verbal abuse of my daughter. So what does one get for demanding a little civility? The one person you love more than anything taken away from you. The pain is mine now but the regret will definitely be hers later sadly. Live and learn.

Took me 60 years to come to this point. People leave me alone now because they sense I don't play

Being finally able to stand up and say "no" to a manipulative narcissistic person in your life (and watch your relationship with them immeditely end since those people usually aren't interested in actual friendships but rather in having people they can manipulate around) is one of the best feelings I ever experienced.
