To not be able to sit is literally torture. You don’t know how fortunate it is to be able to sit down until you experience this😢

Hang in there guys! It gets better, I promise!
The pain was IMMENSE! I could hardly believe how painful it got.
My doctor had to get in there to drain it twice which was extremely unpleasant, but within 2 days after the second drainage, the pain started to go away. Pain was nearly gone the 3rd day after and now, day 4 it's pretty much gone now and I just need to let the incision heal up.
It WILL get better! Sorry you're going through it now though. Holy hell it hurts!

Yeah I had one and the doctor said it was the worst he’s ever seen. He said it would only be like a 15 minute surgery and it ended up being an hour. At least I’m the best at something

I had one of these when I was in the eighth grade. The worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life! I was out of school for three whole months and lost a ton of weight simply because I could not walk or move. The simplest movement would cause immediate and excruciating pain. I will never forget the time where I was stuck on the floor for the entire day trying to make it to the bathroom. I was so happy once they got it drained and had my surgery.

I had one and let me tell you it’s one of the worst pains I’ve gone through, I thought I broke my tailbone, the cyst popped and drained on its own eventually

I’m on the lucky side. I have one and I have to go to the surgeon tomorrow, but mine is extremely tame. 0 pain sitting, standing, or anything. Hopefully the surgery will not be very bad🤞

I had one before … actually when i first had this i had surgery just to find out i was still having pain and went to another DR… soon to discover not all of it was out.. so i had to get another surgery.. if your dealing with this just go to the drs asap and dont let time build up! I was 17 when i had it and missed alot of my senior year with this. Also now 26 if you got it right now.. Just know you will get through it and things are greener on the other side!

I had a pilonidal cyst removed years ago the old school way where they cut out the tissue leaving a huge open wound that took a month to granulate and close completely. Definitely a painful experience even with pain meds!

Unrelated to the cyst but now im dealing with lumbar disc bulges and a spondylolisthesis of L5 over S1 and the pain this causes me is far worse and includes numerous lifestyle restrictions. I miss being in my prime 😐

I had one when I was 16. Developed Sep 2019 and got it removed Feb 2020. Sitting was easy as long as I had a cushion and walking wasn’t affected at all. But after surgery it took me almost a full minute to get out of a chair and the pain doubled after that. Took two weeks to recover fully.

2015, the worst pain I've ever experienced. The doctor did it without anesthesia because I felt every cut when he removed it. I screamed so loudly from the beginning until the end of the surgery. The blood ran through my legs because the doctor asked me to wash my leg in the toilet after. So I walked without the stich, he just put the cotton in the wound. I go to the clinic every day for two weeks to clean the wound.

I just had surgery for this 5 days ago, got a nice 6 inch open wound, because they cut out the whole thing. Doc said it would heal in about 2 months, i now have to have daily changes. Weird thing is it doesnt really hurt that much. Surgery was done with local anaesthetic, about 5 jabs, and after that i didn't feel a thing, now i only feel pain when im exerting a little pressure when getting in or out of my bed. Just have to take care of the wound, keep it clean. If anyones reading, thanks
