3 damaged discs in my lower back. Sciatica pain was so bad I could hardly get out of bed, let alone do the stretches physio suggested. Pregabalin allowed me to move again and go back to work. After a few weeks the pain was gone. I believe it is moderately addictive though.

I just recently had a microdiscectomy done. And leading up to the surgery I had to stop taking gabapentin and I notice a dramatic increase of pain in the days leading up to surgery. Now that’s not conclusive evidence there could have been many factors affecting my pain levels. But I’d say give gabapentin a try

My wife has had.sciatica since 2004 with spindilithlothesis in her left side of her back! I'm 2017 she had a fall and it caused her to have a fracture in her right side of her back!

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to comment. These comments are often more helpful than any videos we watch. Have had sciatica, undiagnosed by Dr as of yet, but E.R. visit and a cat scan show nothing, The Drs seemed to think I was pretending but gave me pain meds that helped a little. I cant keep taking heavy pharmaceuticals. I thank you for all your comments. More helpful than a video from a DR who wants to increase his business and his bank account.

Ouch.. that was a pretty cold presentation. I don't have sciatica, I have arthritis in half my body due to blunt trauma. Gabapentin helps the pain.

Unfortunately, he is a physical therapist and believes physical therapy is the best thing for sciatica. I do agree with other commenters the study he is referencing disregards all modern medicine pain relievers unfairly. Actually, in modern science and medicine one study does not mean anything and only after findings are replicated in multiple peer reviewed studies can they be considered. I have also consistently gotten great relief from prescription strength ibuprofen, much more pain relief than from any physical therapy.

My mum is waiting for an Mri scan as she has been crippled with this and can bearly move. She is in hospital and is having morphine 4 times aday, doesn't seem to be doing much

But WHY tf when I take 1 or 2 or 3 or those Paracetamol, those fuckers ACTUALLY take the PAIN away, LITERALLY, it all kinda goes away for the most part!! Haha that's crazy cuz the pain Is REAL THO!..!!...And the Doctors can actually see the pin on their xrays!! Lower back and hips and all down the back of my right leg and starting at the ankle it wraps down to the top of the foot!!??!!!...

I have been suffering with Chronic satica for 10 years 😢 after 2 botched surgeries all those meds I still have chronic satica....NOW! I've been offer to do the Spinal Cord stimulator please let me know has this help anyone because I've reached my end..😢😢😢
