Don't chase the highs and you won't fall into the lows! Thank you for sharing!

EXACTLY. I BELIEVE MOST (NOT ALL) of us (the ADHD people) can't be bribed with rewards, we don't respond to that because we feed ourselves with the satisfaction of the process itself, not chasing the end reward; that's why most of us become geniuses in whatever we find we enjoy best.

I just stopped binge eating and vaping. my God, that combo is hell on earth, but oddly enough, I am absolutely killing the challenge. I'm learning to enjoy and sit with resistance. I'm learning that feelings are just feelings, and they will pass and the work will be the only thing left at the end of the day.. I am realizing that all these little self destructive variables I am subtracting is making me happy.

This one is underrated, probably one of the best life lessons yet

I love this. I’m 31 years old and still struggle sometimes with my ADHD. Focusing is really hard sometimes. But I can focus on reading. Because it creates that dopamine for me. I love reading so much. So people look at me and say ‘you don’t have problems focusing! You just sat and read that entire book.’ Yeah but I enjoy reading a lot. Try to get me to focus on something I don’t like and it’s impossible.

For an issue with cleaning I changed my thoughts to “I deserve a clean house” and after a while I was like yeah you know I do! I still get stuck some weeks, but it’s helped me a lot more

I don't finish things because I love the feeling of intense creating . . . when the project is finished . . . any project, I miss the anticipation of working on it.

Of all the adhd videos I've watched, yours resonates with me more than any other!❤

Thx u so much, I just saw the video at the perfect time. After many years without a diagnosis (and with it in the wrong hands and ) my brain burst and I with it. This year I made the decision to abandon studies to recover and have time to understand myself. It's hard bc I based my entire life on motivating myself exclusively for studies and pleasing all my loved ones. And now It is very painful to see how everything advances without you because you have gone down a path that is reversed from the rest. Watching this video makes me cry...I keep trying to convince myself that this decision is not selfish and that it is the best thing I can do, but I am afraid. Nobody had told me that my need (said in the video: learning to enjoy) is real and not an excuse.

I send you a warm hug🧡

That's why I want to try to earn money with what I love instead of what my parents thought I should do after I finished school and what I tried unsuccessfully for the past 15 years 🫣

I got diagnosed a few months ago and suddenly my whole life makes sense somehow 🌞 Thank you for the work you do in sharing your journey!

Finding the fun/novelty in something, gamifying it, or making it competitive (even if you're just competed against yourself!) Is such a good way to kick motivation into gear.

Focusing on attributing your dopamine rewards to the process (and enjoying it, rather than just rushing through it), and not just focusing on the end result, is some of the best ADHD advice I’ve ever heard. Thanks for sharing!

Great advice cause my dopamine cravings can definitely become toxic at times

I love the way you describe ADHD.
I learned a lot. I learned that I hide my ADHD. If you control yourself and limit yourself, you can’t be your self.

Say fuck you to the people that can’t have your through self.
Do not hide yourself to fit in!

I learned this at 35, I hope to inspire younger people. Don’t change yourself to fit in, be your self what ever it takes!

This is something i don't know how to teach my kids. I suck at starting a task, but once i do I'm usually really focused and can power through a lot of tasks. But I do enjoy the process, just not the thought of it before hand. My kids don't enjoy the process, and I'm not sure how to help them there.
