I love the term "Hyperfixation" for this. I can't pull myself away. I get fixated. We don't have a deficit of attention as much as a dis-regulation of attention. We're either distracted or fixated.

I hate when I get interrupted in my hyperfocus....it seems like as soon as my hyperfocus starts, that's when my fiance wants to start paying attention to me (hops off xbox) or that's when the day at work is almost over and my dad kicks me out of the office. (No overtime) I can't help it because most of the day my coworkers need stuff from me. Rarely do I get a day to myself.

Started reading A Game of Thrones...I read all the books non stop..Watched all Breaking Bad in about 3 or 4 days not sleeping...but I can't fill in any paperwork, can't get up unless have an appointment...can sit and hv YT paralysis for 24 hrs...but can't navigate and mix in real life.

Recently for me my focus has literally been on adhd which is how I discovered this channel 😅

you can be hyperfocus but you will with time to loose interest and change for something else like that thing dont make sense to you anymore.
