I'll just trauma dump here, I have no other place. Being a senior in high school and having ADHD is pretty difficult. It's not easy I promise. I have watched many videos about how to control thoughts and how to study better and how to focus more, nothing helped. Add above that, house is too small, and my room is with the same wall as the living room, specifically the wall that has the tv mounted on, and my father usually watched tv with a high volume, so it can't get any worse. best I can do is close my door, put on my headphones, and hope that none of the tv sounds reach me. plus the overstimulation, I have a physics quiz in two days now and I have 3 lessons (they're short but difficult to understand) and I haven't finished 2 lessons yet, I got way too overstimulated to go on. sometimes I feel like sitting like a ball and start to cry, just because the overstimulation is too strong.

if anyone read this, thank you so much.

When I forget where I left my water bottle, I tell myself I’ll get it later and then proceed to go the entire day without drinking anything. I need a GPS for my water bottles 😅

I have found that I need physical reminders for everything.

I leave my morning hygiene products out on my bathroom counter, so that I can go right down the line left to right and don’t forgot to do something like put on deodorant or brush my teeth.

Facts! I was so dehydrated once that I was having chest pain and went to the hospital. They couldn’t believe how dehydrated I was. I have since bought a water cooler that lives in the middle of my home that I have to walk past all the time (I work from home) so I’ve been much hydrated since

I just took two tablets at 3. 30 am for my headache, realizing I've only drank 3 times all day.
Telling myself I have to look after myself better.

My hydration got way better when I started physically carrying a waterbottle around with me at school. Like, not in my backpack where I can forget about it, but in my jacket pocket, and when one ran out, I would replace it with another one I had in my backpack. That way I had a reminder to drink water physically touching me at all times, which helped a lot. Kinda cumbersome for some people, but it worked super well for me.

Also, dont be me.
•AuDHD.
• Forgets to drink water regularly
• Usually drinks 500mL-1L daily,
• Human body needs 2.7-3.5L daily.
• Lack of water = dehydration
• Dehydration = headaches that don’t go away till you drink enough water
• Have headache for 2 days then realize it’s from dehydration but at that point you also feel similar to nauseous, and your stomach and throat feel weird
• Harder to drink water but you down 700mL(reusable Starbucks venti cup)
• Take pain medication
•Pain goes away and keeps drinking water through out the day
• Pain stays away
• Stay decently hydrated for 2 weeks
• Rinse and repeat every 1-3 months

I put water in an empty peanut butter jar. I keep empty jars with plastic lids. Jars don't get knocked down so easy as bottles. Jars are easier to clean, and the lid keeps the water clean. I always have two jars in circulation. One by the bed and one on the go. Change every day.

I solve this with a hardcore tea addiction 😂 I frickin LOVE tea so I just carry around a bottle and tea bags all day. If I run out, time to make more tea :3 my fiancé is becoming concerned with my teapot collection.

My memory played a trick on me today and I missed an appt! Also, the hydration thing is really important, and I learned the hard way. Kidney stones etc, because I always forget to drink water.

These are the facts.. I carry around a huge 1 gallon tumbler in the car & another one or two 1.5L bottles. If they aren’t in front of me I won’t drink (like today 😅) but when they are all over my house I’m pretty good at yelling at myself to Drink the Water!?!

I use a water tracking app also which set up to try & hit 120ml daily it reminds me every few hours. But really I’m just happy if I can get 70-80ml in me! I only drink water now basically too 👏

I remember as a child I used to test myself I would take my soda into the living room filled every time it was just weird . I'm the kind of person I would tie the boat around my finger to remind me but forget that the boat is around my finger. But ask me something that's obscure from years ago and I will remember it

I often feel so behind on everything that there's no time to stop to drink water. So silly! It takes just a few seconds.
