-Seefeldt was an ardent student of scripture and was said to be able to quote long bible passages from memory. He also preferred to sleep outside in the open (regardless of the weather), and would sometimes convince gullible peasants that he was a witch and had the ability to cast evil spells on their livestock.

-Seefeldt didn’t always choose to kill his victims. In one case, Seefeldt kidnapped a young boy while traveling and lived with him for 3 months before eventually deciding to release him and spare his life.

-Seefeldt was first charged for murdering a young boy in 1908. However, due to a lack of evidence, he was not convicted. Although regardless of escaping this charge, Seefeldt still spent nearly 25 years in prison for various convicitons for child molestation.

-While prevailing theories state that Seefeldt’s preferred weapon was a homemade poison that he concocted from wild fungi and plants, alternate theories posit that he used hypnosis. According to Hans Pfeiffer, an author who wrote on science and crimnal cases, Seefeldt placed his victims in a hypnotic sleep, sexually violated them, and then left them to lie asleep in the woods. He believed that ecause Seefeldt wouldn’t awaken them from their hypnosis, the children would die of hypothermia. This theory is widely disregarded.
