Simple 5-Minute Guided Meditation For Beginners

This is the first meditation we use in classes here at Green Mountain at Fox Run to introduce beginners to the practice of meditation. It’s also great for practitioners who just want something simple, or to go back-to-basics.

Before You Begin

You may wish to practice this in the morning, on your lunch break, or after a long day to de-stress – this meditation is great any time of day. Before starting, find a comfortable seated position or feel free to lie down – find the position that will be most comfortable and peaceful for your practice today.

And remember: anything that happens in this meditation is perfect. Thank yourself for taking this time for you.

Just started being interested in meditating as a way to relieve built up emotions, and this video was amazing! Something that had bothered me slipped right away. I felt almost weightless and even started falling asleep! Great great content and the instructions and voice were perfect

At first, I was truly struggling to let go. However, the first time I felt my mind wandering and refocused on my breath, I felt a wave of relaxation take over. My worries we’re gone at least temporarily. I got lost in the music behind your voice and felt nothing in the best possible way. Thank you.

Of the many guided meditations I have heard and tried..this is truly the simplest but holds in its fold the essence of the practice...I nice recap even for a seasoned meditator.

Thanks so much for this helpful guided meditation for beginners! I'm sharing with the MAED Group of moms - Mothers Against Eating Disorders where I share a breathing/meditation each day. They need to get their oxygen masks on so they can help their kids in recovery. I hope you'll do more like this. :)
