Its like a breath of fresh air that you guys are reviewing older more affordable trucks that is a little more realistic for most of us. Thank you TFL.

I laughed when Andre made a comment how low the Titan's hood was. I distinctly remember our neighbor getting one when they were first launched and thinking what a monster it was. Just shows how big new trucks have gotten.

I currently own a ZR2 Colorado (2018) (73, 000 miles) and it has been rock solid. Love the truck! It handles like a sports car, a beast off-road, and plenty of power. My sister has a 2007 Nissan Titan SV 4x4 with 156, 000 miles. Amazing truck! We use it for hay, gravel, towing horses… Super good at all of these things. (We have overloaded it with hay A LOT and it’s just perfect). Rock solid trucks and are gems in the truck world.

I currently have a 2015 fully loaded pro4x titan thant I bought new with now 245k. No mechanical or drivetrain issues. Fairly redid the full front end suspension once (upper, lower ball joint, outter tie rods), struts all around once, 2 front wheel bearings, AC condenser, radiator (small fitting leak), canister evap valve. Other than that, regular maintenance. It's all about that maintenance... cheers!

So nice to see them showing the affordable deals that are out there for good used trucks as the prices for new ones are insane. As long as get a Carfax, and have a Dealership do a prepurchase inspection before a purchase, and have a body shop do a walkaround you'll be ok.

I had a 2018 ZR2 Diesel. The truck was quiet and smooth and always impressed my off-road but the fuel mileage always confused me. Bone stock it averaged 21-22 mpg. I checked mileage religiously and hit 25 mpg only once when I had a tail wind! Where it impressed me was I eventually put a 5" lift and 35 inch tires and it could still squeak out 20 mpg. So while stock it wasn't much better than the gas V6, in typical diesel form it does it's best when working harder. A gasser with 35's would get about only get about 14 mpg.

Beware….some of these prices are SCAMS used to hook you in to get u to the dealership! Read the FINE PRINT. The dealers get u in and then ALWAYS add on at least $5, 000 worth of crap (window tint, windshield protection, paint protection, ceramic coating, theft protection) that they say CANNOT be deducted. Now that great deal is $5, 000-$8, 000 higher!! This happened to me in at Central Houston Nissan.

I really liked my 10 Titan I got rid of it after 350, 000kms. 10 years owned. Motor and transmission solid 4x4 was solid too only thing I did was coils, new sparks, tranny flush. In the last 5 years ownership rear axle seals went, exhaust manifolds cracked, power steering pump leaked, upper / lower ball joints replaced, wheel bearings all, new brakes and rotors new fuel pump, and the airbag light was flashing lol…. End of ownership came when the truck would just shut off driving down the highway 😬 sold it as is

I absolutely agree with the titan. I would put aftermarket cats on it and manifolds. Do the rear diff breather mod. You got a solid truck

Remembering that you shouldn't buy a truck with fuel economy in mind, the Nissan Titan would get my vote, .... just maybe not that one with the jazzed up exhaust and air intake.

The 2015 to 2017 F150 with the 5.0 should be in this list as being one of the best reliable trucks on the used market!

I’ve had 4 first gen titans. My dad bought one brand new in 03 and has 350k on it and barely maintains it. He has a 2017 f150 also and prefers the Titan. Still daily drives it. I don’t daily my Titan anymore but they are very under appreciated especially for the price compared to new trucks

My 2013 Nissan Titan has been a great truck.

I would choose the Ram Rebel for sure here. Best value for money vehicle, excellent off road and excellent comfort + capability. Not to mention it has a proven V8 that is very reliable.

Unless you KNOW that it has been done, if a Colorado with the 2.8L Duramax has more than 100K miles on it, you should immediately replace the timing belt. The 2.8L Duramax is a version of the VM Motori 2.8L CRD sold in the U.S. in the 2005-2006 Jeep Liberty. Both engines are "interference" engines--if the timing belt breaks, there can be severe engine damage. The bad news: timing belt replacement is about $1, 500 if done by an auto shop. Like all MY2007+ diesels, the 2.8L Duramax is prone to emission system problems, especially if the vehicle is driven a lot in stop and go traffic or is idled a lot.

My dad had a 2005 4×4 titan . That truck was amazing. With a magna flow exhaust. With an intake. It pulled hard . And sounded amazing. What a great truck that was

I absolutely LOVE this review!!
If I had the cash available and a connection with your auto auction out there, I would buy that ZR2 and that Rebel right now!!
