They choke supply on purpose. That trick is an old one.

Only way we're going to see decent prices again is for everyone to quit buying new trucks and paying these ridiculous prices! Manufacturers are going crazy and we're fueling the problem. People just don't realize what paying double for a knew truck and in most cases financing is doing to their future.

I’m committed more than ever to keep my 2012 2500 DMax. I plan to drive it another 150k miles. Frankly, I can afford a new truck but at my age another $80k in my retirement account is far more appealing. I don’t need all the fancy cameras and bling bling bullshit. Good kuck GM!

GMC can shove it, they can rust on the lots before I buy at these prices...

The whole supply chain crap is manufactured to drive prices up.

Walked inside the GMC dealer months ago, an employee said, ” hey you look like a luxury truck guy, can I show you something real quick?” When he said “LUXURY TRUCK” I wanted to turn around and run🏃🏾‍♀️. I knew the price was going to be through the roof.

Eventually, they will have no choice but to come down. The automakers have been "pooling" to keep prices high but most cars are bought on floor plans and that inventory in some cases they are hiding from buyers will result in dealers paying fees on those floor plans. Some of the big banks are pulling out of the floor plan market because they don't want to be holding the bag when these dealers and manufacturers go belly up. They have priced themselves out of reach for buyers.

They will hit a conundrum because the dealerships are actually having a tough time moving them off the lots. That is causing the dealerships to bite the bullet and they are holding the note for all those vehicles. They are way past the 100 day mark . This data is not to be trusted that is just to boost investor confidence.

They slowed and stopped production to maintain higher prices..which in turn shows higher profit…we’ll see if they can keep doing that with rising interest rates and cost of living going up in general

The problem is their raising ice vehicles prices to cover ev losses.

I unfortunately had to buy a new truck about 2 months ago. 95% of what I could find were high countries and Denalis. They are building more 85-100k trucks than the lower trim level that people can afford. I was luck I found a 2023 crew cab 3500 hd Duramax LT 4x4 and paid $69, 000 for it. I still think over priced but way better than 80+ thousand

The best advice is to drive what you have till it costs more to fix than it's worth. Save your money up and then you can pay whatever it is to buy at that point. Because at that point, you should have the money to buy

Canadian here. I was pricing out trucks the other day and was Shocked at the Prices! Ram, Ford GM Toyota. New trucks no matter the make are asking over 100k and most hitting 150K? I just wanted a work truck for my farm. Noway in Hell could I ever afford the prices they want .

Banks are starting to write off vehicles that are delinquent now. They have so many repos but not enough repo drivers.

So glad I bought a Toyota Tundra in 2007………it’s still going strong and in great condition! I will not pay the prices of new trucks now, way overpriced!

Harsh fact, inventory is building month after month. Now matching early 2021 levels. Consumers, unless u MUST buy now, wait. You can already see some incentives returning including GM. GM is pushing subsidized interest rates currently. That is only the start……we need 6-9 months more for some level of meaningful discounting to return

If you and your viewers are saying that dealers are marking up vehicles OVER the sticker price I can say that where I live there’s no such thing and it’s never ever happened.

Actually, I just helped my daughter negotiate a deal to lease a 2023 Equinox. Got dealer down twice from his original offer. The process was the same as every other car I’ve bought for the past 35 years.

Dealer inventory stats are helpful in this analysis. 120 days seems to be what most auto makers currently have, Stellantis is much more.

I have a friend who's son is 30 years old lives in his basement, doesnt pay rent but bought a new truck and his payments are 1000 a month. I think a lot of that is happening
