So Ford advertises the Maverick at a $25K base price and then you load it up with options it goes above that price? So it ain't so. Geez guys.

The domestic vehicle manufacturers have lost their minds with these exorbitant prices. Trucks are not nor have they ever been luxury vehicles. Why would anyone pay 100k for a pick up truck? That’s insane! Also, I’ve never seen a turbo engine that doesn’t have a shorter life span. Too many bells and whistles make vehicles unnecessarily complicated and way too expensive.

All trucks are too expensive! That's why there's "lot rot."

Coming from a Toyota, got my loaded 24 Titan Pro-4X for $51k, versus $65k MSRP. The V8 is heaven. Pleny of space, solid build quality, nice appointments without all the extra tech bullsh*t that plagues every other modern vehicle. With the new Tundra being a reliability disaster, the Titan was the last great dependable truck. Compare the recalls for every other truck out there, yeah. American consumers will pledge allegiance to the brand of their choosing, whether or not they're actually making a solid product. Also, 5yr/100k bumper-to-bumper warranty means parts will be out there for a long time to come.

You missed the mark on this one. If someone buys a Maverick because they just need a small bed for Lowe’s runs or taking junk to Goodwill that doesn’t make them stupid — they bought what they needed. I call them smart. You just disagree with them. Also, you suggest a Ram as an alternative for many trucks in your video. Rams are overpriced and have typical Stellantis quality problems. I owned a Ram 1500 for 7 years and it was nothing but trouble. Never again.

$52, 000+ for a Honda! That dealership is smoking crack! 🤣

Ridgeline owners dont need the "truck" experience. We like a nice comfortable ride and roomy interior and it is nice to have a truck bed for the occasional moving of a sofa or fridge. But 52K for a new one is crazy.

That Honda is $20K more than I paid for my 2006 4wd Cummins truck. Yes, I know inflation is a thing but holy shit! I'll be driving old junk for the rest of my life.

I have a Ford Maverick, and I've been completely satisfied with it. If you really want to tow more the 2k, don't get a Maverick. Get a midsized truck, like a Ridgeline, Frontier, Tacoma or Colorado, which can all tow far more than the Maverick. The Maverick is for anyone who wants a bed, and doesn't need to tow anything more than a small trailer 8' trailer. I'm always hauling 4'x8' sheets of plywood, lumber, appliances, etc in my Maverick, and it gets the job done just fine. I'd say most people who have big trucks, would get along just fine with a Maverick, and save ten of thousands of dollars in the process.

People say the old Tundra is dated but it’s more reliable than the newer one. Lesson learned old is better.

As an owner of a 2019 Honda Ridgeline, I agree with your points about it. However, if you are not off-roading and towing, this is an excellent truck! It drives smooth and accelerates well. The 2019 gets about 30 mpg in warm weather with cruise control on the freeway. Best of all, it has an in-bed trunk and swinging tail gate. I love those features!

I find your videos amusing as you are basically looking at it as one size fits all and much of it is your personal preferences. Also you are not factually correct on pricing, one example is showing a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and saying it is over $65, 000, you are way high on that one! Bottom line you guys are very opiniated sharing very little factual in formation.

I have had an experience at a dealership that I’ve never seen in my 52 years on this planet. I actually had a sales person at a Ford dealership telling me that they wouldn’t sell me a lightning because everyone that has been sold has come back.

The 8 trucks to avoid:
Ford, Ram, Chevy, GMC, Honda, Toyota, Tesla, essentially all of them until their sanity returns with this pricing

All the dealers in my area (Chicago) are told by upper management do not take any electrics on trade, no exceptions.

My 2023 Ford Maverick has the towing package, bed mat, because I don't want any liner, they're ugly, I paid $25, 000 even. It's turbocharged and extremely fast and it gets 28 miles per gallon and I'm a lead foot. I have consistently pulled 3, 500 lb and it tows beautifully. It is rated for 5, 000 lb. And it is all wheel drive.
