Glad someone is looking at the detailed facts, there are a ton of youtubers who've been making a living off selling hopium of impending truck market implosion for over a year now. Goodcarbadcar shows truck sales are up in 2024 vs 2023. There's not a huge shortage like there was, and dealers aren't getting MSRP (mostly), but compared to say 2018 or 2019 they are ridiculously expensive. MSRP for a 2018 F150 Lariat started at 42K just 6 years ago. Today MSRP is 67K with the lowest prices in TX starting ~55K in the real world. That's more than a 50% increase in 6 years. Crazy.

I use the bed of my f150 occasionally, but my back seat hauls my kids around everyday. I can get to work in any kind of weather with 4 wheel drive.

I remember when the Toyota pickup was small.
Now they’re a midsize, which is great for me.
I no longer need a full sized pickup, but now my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed is just a bit smaller than what size the full sized pickups use to be.
Overall I’m very happy with my purchase.
Since this will be the last pickup I’ll ever need to buy, I decided to buy a Tacoma with the Premium and Technology pkgs.
The only thing I HATE about my truck is that it has the same 1990 Death Black Leather interior color that became popular 34 years ago.
I’m ordering Lava Red Leather seat covers trimmed in black with black stitching.
Every automaker since 1990 has shoved either Gloomy Grey or Boring Black interior colors in Every vehicle they produce.
It is a proven historical fact that when there’s a stable economy, the world in general is at peace and inflation is under control and people are stable, they flock to bright cheerful colors. But when economies are unstable, there’s wars and civil unrest people run to darker, drab, dreary colors.
I suppose that whoever decides that the interior colors in vehicles are depressing, they are representing themselves and their outlook for their future. Meanwhile, everyone else has to suffer because of them.
A few years ago I bought my wife a new car for her 50th birthday.
Her 18 year old Camry needed replacement. It was Tan metallic with Tan interior.
My 11 Rav Limited 4WD was Gold with Tan leather interior.
When choosing a car for my wife, I purposefully bought her a vehicle with Ivory interior, which is a beautiful contrast to the Cinnamon Brown Pearl paint.
She has gotten many compliments on her Ivory interior because it’s different from almost anything else on the road.
I’m glad that at Katzkin anyone can order exactly what color of leather they want.
I’m quite sure people will be complementing my truck after the Lava Red Leather is installed and the Outdated Black Leather is removed.
It will also complement the Barcelona Ted 2 tone on my White Tacoma.

My last truck was a 11 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4WD.
We bought it in 19 with only 20K miles.
It like many other vehicles was Silver with Gloomy Grey and Boring Black interior.
We HATE Silver, Grey, Charcoal Grey and Black, so I had my Ranger 2 toned in Red metallic. Likewise I had it reupholstered in Red with black trim and stitching.
Everyone complemented on what a beautiful truck it was. My wife Loved the 2 tone color combination. It was literally a 1 of a kind.

As soon as I bought my White Tacoma, my wife told me to have it 2 toned in Barcelona Red ASAP. It is a gorgeous truck.
It came with the “blackened” trim, so I immediately took that black overlay trim crap off my truck and replaced it with Lava Red.
Who wants to be like EVERYONE ELSE ? I don’t. I enjoy being myself and having my own individuality.

Most people put the Red or Carbon Fiber as trim pieces in their Tacoma.
I chose to use Mahogany wood for my trim pieces.
I wish more people desired to be an individual again, instead of being just like everyone else.
