The Truck Market Finally COLLAPSED. And Buyers are DONE Overpaying!

I traveled to several dealerships to show you guys what current inventory and easily identifiable discounts look like. Not only are interest rates super high right now but MSRPs have gotten out of control. Thankfully many of the dealers are finally coming back down to Earth on their pricing below MSRP.

Thoughts?

If only I had a dollar for every single video title on YouTube breathlessly announcing "The Truck/Car Market has FINALLY I'd be able to pay cash for one.

Apparently, the market hasn't crashed enough because the Toyota dealers are still asking for $48K for a $30K dollar truck.

$13, 000 for a 20 year old Taco with 200, 000 miles? lol, WTF? The truck market is as insane as it's been for 4 years.

The dealer mark-ups are not listed...because the msrp has been increased by so much. Thats not a collapse

I just need a no frills 4wd truck, for $20, 000. I guess i'll keep fixing my 1992 Chevy k2500 4x4 pick up? I'm done with car payments! I got 2 more months left on my 2018 Chevy Spark. Bought it with 100 miles from the dealership in 2018. Now i have 72, 000. And hope it lasts another 70, 000 miles. So far i only put front brakes and a battery in it. Cheap on gas too! 45 mpg. 1.4 cylinder 5 speed.

4Runners are still flying off the lots, but Tacomas and Tundras are sitting. They have too many and no one is buying. No one wants a 4 banger turbo that’s 25k over priced.

I recently bought a 2024 4Runner, they had two, a Pro and a ORP that I had reserved and literally arrived that day. I bought the ORP, so they only had one 4 Runner. They also had 29 Tacomas. The Manager said they couldn’t sell Tacomas or Tundras. And it was weird because there was a Toyota supply shortage, they had zero Camrys on the lot, yet they had rows and rows of a Tacomas. Salesman were just standing around because they had no inventory to sell.. but they had 29 Tacomas 😂

Trucks are so damn expensive now. I'm not paying 50k+ for a truck that has cloth seats and basic amenities. When you have unibody trucks for 40k, and 60k for some mid-sized trucks. Insane!

After they collapse another 2 or 3 times I might start looking

I recently learned dealers have to sell the new vehicles as used when there is some type of damage. For instance transportation damage, but they won't tell you what the damage is.

I’ve got to buy a 1 ton truck for my business before long and I’ve been looking at them recently; fell a sleep last night looking at them. They’ve backed out about $17k to $18k as stated but they are still out of my price range. After the last UAW contract the big three signed off on I wouldn’t be surprised if this is their bottom dollar. All I can say is let this train wreck continue. The only auto workers that benefited out of this was the most senior employees. All the younger guys get sent to the house, more than likely permanently if they have to come back under the rules of this recent contract.

$5, 000 off now on a $90, 000 truck! I can't thank you enough. Does mother acknowledge your existence?

They buying trucks off each others lot and claiming them used as low inventory to screw you into paying more

These Trucks are too expensive!! Times are tough!!! And these Dealer ships are greedy! Mark ups like crazy!! Those Trucks will stay on the Lots and become ornaments!!!

Bring back the small Datsun/Nissan and Toyota pickups from the 1970’s and 80’s.

No deals on 2024 Toyota 4Runner ORP's in SoCal. Just bought one at MSRP and I checked around and no discounts anywhere. I didn't want the 2025 turbo 4Runner and they will mark up the price of those by 5-6 thousand when they hit the lots.

Looks like I'm gonna be keeping my first truck for a long time. Prices for trucks and even used ones are absolutely riduculous.

A 4 or 5 foot bed does not a truck make! Almost like its an afterthought.
