The Truck Market Finally COLLAPSED. And Buyers are DONE Overpaying!

I traveled to several dealerships to show you guys what current inventory and easily identifiable discounts look like. Not only are interest rates super high right now but MSRPs have gotten out of control. Thankfully many of the dealers are finally coming back down to Earth on their pricing below MSRP.

Thoughts?

The car dealership are telling people thats just the way it is.
Now people aren't buying cars. HEY CAR DEALERS THATS JUST THE WAY IT

The car market reminds me of what happened at a hardware store that went out of business many years ago.

- Basically an item that was $30 originally had a $40 price tag put on it and was ‘discounted’ to $32. Needless to say nobody was buying anything. Meanwhile another chain had the same item on sale for $26.

These huge discounts on these vehicles still don’t compensate for the huge markups.🤨

Smart people will not buy.... too bad we are the few.

Still too high. Not sure why the cost is doubled and the quality is not even as good as the last gen trucks.

I wanted to buy my first Toyota of my life, then I saw inventory & mark up. I bought CR-V Sport-L AWD for $4400 discount of MSRP.
I guess Toyota has to wait another 15 yrs for my business.

Overpriced and cheaply manufactured products are not worth buying. Especially the trucks. They’re supposed to be working vehicles. Not toys.

I’m gonna hold onto my paid off vehicles longer than planned. Everything new is just too expensive.

Trucks went up fifty thousand dollars and now they’re down eleven thousands and car dealers can’t figure out why they aren’t selling.

90k for a bronco?!?!? Holy wow. In market for used older toyota, dealers are stubborn, cars are sitting. I plan to be more stubborn until prices come back to earth

Over the past year, I've put about $1400 into maintenance for my 2009 vehicle via my mechanic who is a mechanic for CalTrans. He does repairs in his time off for a little extra money. I replaced my alternator with belts, water pump, valve covers, and timing belt. My car is good to go for a while now. If dealerships/car manufacturers are waiting for me to buy a new or used car, they'll be waiting for a long time.

After some truly horrendous stealership experiences — and bitten badly, unfortunately I am very reluctant to ever consider buying a new car from any brand, no matter the reputation. The consumer protections from slipshod upselling practices simply doesn’t exist. The price advertised seldom is the true price.

Here’s an idea. Full size trucks v8’s. Midsize trucks nothing under a v6. And dump them damn turbos (naturally aspirated) please. And no truck needs all that over the top luxury car bullshit. Just saying 🤔

My Ford Maverick XL hybrid costed me 22k and has gotten 46-49mpg consistently for the almost 2 years I've had it. Where the hell is Toyota's answer to that? 80k tundra, I can't believe it.

Live in San Antonio Tx, bought 24 f150 xlt 302a package for 46k out the door, sticker was st 56.2k. Just tell them what you will pay for the truck and if they don’t take the deal, go to another one. Shop around, all of them are desperate to make sales.

These prices are based on what a hand full of people that can actually afford these prices.

I have been a Toyota 4Runner buyer for decades. I recently bought a luxurious Mazda CX-90 six cylinder Turbo S Premium Plus. For thousands lower than a new 4 cylinder turbo Toyota 4Runner. Sadly, Toyota has pricing issues, reliabilty issues, quality control issues and safety test issues that have hurt the brand.

Toyota has always had powertrain bugs in newly introduced generations, and that's what the manufacturers warranty is for. Ford has been number 1 in recalls and warrant claim spending for the last 3 years in a row. Toyota's overall quality is MILES away from Ford, anyone who thinks otherwise clearly doesn't work on cars.

I’m so glad that I found my new “leftover” 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, long bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs.
I got it for almost $4K under MSRP and the dealership gave me a Tri-Fold tonneau cover, running boards, lifetime oil changes, tire rotation and an 8 year 75K mile bumper to bumper warranty for free.
The MSRP was $51, 848 and I bought it for $48K.
