AMERICANS ARE BROKE & The Truck Market Is REVEALING IT...

The pickup truck dream is dying and American's are refusing to buy these overpriced trucks from Ford, Chevy and RAM.

The average vehicle payment in America right now is at an all time high of $750, and truck payments get even worse with costs soaring to well over $1,000 per month.

Pickup trucks sales are on a decline in the first half of 2024 compared to last year and according to bloomberg… it’s a huge threat to Detroit’s profit engine.

Not spending $80, 000 on a pick up truck doesn’t mean you’re broke, it means you’re smart.

More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire.

Maybe people realized spending 1000 a month on a vehicle is an idiotic thing to do.

If they take a $100K truck discounted $20K it’s still $80K! All the discounts they offer means nothing if the bottom line is still high!

Ladies complaining about their car payments, you are part of the problem buying a vehicle for $84, 000!

Dude, I won't even spend $30k on a truck... never mind $40k, $50, $60, $70 or higher. That is pure insanity.

And this is even after politicians banned the Japanese Kei Mini Trucks and Vans. those sells for $6, 000 - $8, 000 NEW. no one in their right mind would buy a $50, 000-$70, 000 us trucks.

Broke? No, I just won't pay these prices.
These greedy manufacturers have to realize, that 100% of NO SALE is still nothing!

I'm not broke, not even close. And no way I'm spending $85k for any car or truck. If I was inclined to spend like that on depreciating assets, I WOULD be broke.

$1400-$1600 a month is really over $2, 000 a month after gas and insurance.

We need to reform the car business to get out of the manufacturer/dealer model.

These dealers have been completely fine with these prices because for every 1 person that purchased they made the same as if 2 people bought a car. What they forgot is, the number of transactions is the heartbeat of your business. Once you have people choosing not to come in to buy, it is far harder to get them back.

Did they really think they were going to make 1 million dollars per 10 trucks sold?
I hope they bankrupt and all executives are fired.

Paid $4000 for my 2004 Sequoia in 2020. Now has 186, 000 miles. Runs like a clock. No plans to replace it.

I don’t think people understand the purpose of a pick up truck. 95 percent of truck beds are empty.

I saw a High Country yesterday. I told my wife that it’s a $70, 000 truck. She couldn’t believe it and we both laughed.

People are at their breaking point from being squeezed from all directions. Buying a new truck, let alone $100, 000 just isn’t going to happen.

$25 big mac meal, 7% interest on home loan, 40k+ for a truck, 3.4% inflation ( more like 9% ), and a stagnant wage. Yup we are doomed.

Who the hell is going to spend $80k on a tool to haul junk around? And at 12% interest? No way.
Even a two year old used stripper fleet truck will cost you $40k. It’s stupid.

I bought a new truck in 2022. I ordered online with zero bells or whistles, a barebones truck+as cheap as possible. I ended up paying $22, 600 for it and my monthlies are $375 for the next 5 years. Easy enough on my paycheck. I cannot imagine a monthly of over $1000!?
