What is a hammer curl? Hammer curls are one of the most straight-forward but often overlooked biceps exercises. Hammer curls are effective at working both your biceps and forearms, so they are a "double whammy exercise." We will show you the hammer curl exercise and how to do it with the perfect technique.

How to Hammer Curl (Dumbbell) — [Step-by-Step Technique]

Step 1: Stand shoulder-width apart with your knees soft and core tight.
Step 2: Hold the dumbbells loosely at your sides.
Step 3: Alternating arms, curl the weight up across your body, keeping your hand in the same position (do not supinate your hand). Squeeze your biceps HARD at the top.
Step 4: Lower the weight slowly and controlled back to the start position.

** Pro Tip: Flex your Triceps at the bottom of the hammer curl movement to increase the tension of each contraction. **

** Pro Tip: We recommend starting 3 sets of 12-15 reps (each arm) for hammer curl. **

I just wanted to thank you for sharing this exercise. I've been doing it for about a year after watching your video and have noticed amazing gains using your form tips. Learning a lot. I am new to exercising with weights. Only been doing it a cpl months. I have gained one pound in that time but my clothes for better. I feel better too. I like this channel.
