My advice for all the gym newbies watching these YouTube influencers is to not get too bogged down by tiny details. Being consistent outweighs tiny details like what direction you should do a bicep curl by FAR.
This young man didn’t get his arms by doing cross body bicep curls, he got it by training consistently, likely for years.
Building muscle is very very simple,
Maintain good form, train your entire body (don’t skip legs lol), track what you are lifting and aim to lift heavier with time, eat well, and most of all BE CONSISTENT. If you do these things you’ll build muscles irrespective of your workout variation.

What you could do is the regular hammer curl form then once you get close to failure or failure you switch to the cross body all in one set

Pinwheel curls are an s-tier forearm exercse. I started doing them 3 months ago and I swear my forearms have grown by 25% since then

I always feel like the side curls are affecting forearms way more than in the normal variation. I recommend combining both of those styles for maximum gain

Both are good. For my bicep workout I do 1x10 regular bicep curls, 1x10 hammer curls, and 1x10 cross body curls. That way I can hit each part.
