STOP doing your BICEP CURLS like this!

Alright quick tip when you're doing bicep curls, don’t let your elbows drift excessively forward cuz this causes your forearms to point straight up at the top which creates no tension on the biceps due to gravity. Instead roll your shoulders back, squeeze your glutes, and keep your elbows pinned by your side while curling the weight up to your chest and squeezing at the top.

I hope that helps and subscribe for more lifting tips! #Gym #Shorts

A little elbow drift is fine, just as long as you aren't able to rest at the top

Your biceps also contributes to shoulder flexion so letting the elbows drift forward a bit gives a better contraction. No right or wrong way of doing them, they both work well with unique benefits

The rule of almost every exercise (calisthenics or weights) SQUEEZE YOUR GLUTES

Alright. Quick tip. Always squeeze your glutes. Curls, pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, weighted dips, eating cereal, brushing your teeth, breathing. No matter WHAT you're doing, always keep those cheeks tight😂😂😂

I would like to say that this is a controversial topic, and there's more than one way to curl. The legend John Meadows almost always used to let his elbows drift foward during bicep curls to allow the long head (which contributes to shoulder flexion) fully contract. So I wouldn't necessarily say that there is only one way to bicep curl, and I personally get a better mind muscle connection to the biceps by purposely letting the elbows drift foward.

Elbows forward - short head
Elbows backward - long head

nope, elbow drifting isn't bad, in fact if you want to squeeze the biceps in the top position it is inevitable.

Even in the strict curl you're allowed to move your elbows

Yes and no. Curl as far as you can then pull your elbows up for an extra squeeze in the biceps.

i use to keep elbows at my sides and strict as all hell when I was a kid and found that letting elbows drift forward and curling to my nose activates a much more intense bicep squeeze.

As long as you can stabilize all other parts of your body, a little elbow drift won't do anything bad to your bicep curls. Now if you were to say, engage your hip and possibly a little bit of your upper back, then you are no longer doing bicep curls, but rather cheat curls. Which is still fine but it's not isometric anymore
