God gave you a gift, Kati. Thank you for sharing it with us. This is just what I needed to hear as a new nurse who was floated my very first shift off orientation. My HR was anywhere between 90-120 bpm all shift.

I am starting my new graduate RN neuroscience unit residency in just a couple of weeks. I don't have any nurses in my family so THANK YOU for providing these tips. It honestly made me feel better and a little more prepared for the career I am about to start.

I feel like I keep hearing 'its normal that you feel like you don't know what you're doing'....but then I'm like...what if they say that but then if they were in my head they'd be like 'OH MY we didn't realize the extent of it quit now. Get outta here damn'. I'm worried that my manager is going to realize that 'holy crap I have made a mistake please leave'. I despearately need a fast forward button lololol. After watching the first few minutes I feel like I'll be hiding in a closet I am the hahahaha thank you, this video was so helpful!!!! It's funny too because I'm not a particularly anxious person but nursing has really taken upon itself to be thorough in shaking me to my core and introducing me to anxiety. You are the real MVP!

I'm a new grad nurse starting orientation in two weeks (MedSurg). My anxiety and my self-doubt are raging. I did my accelerated nursing during COVID-19 and I fear I do not know enough to give proper care. Clinical experience is definitely my weakness. I hope to overcome this with more practice and time.
Thank you for your tips. I will try to commit to three 12s per week and not do too much overtime. And pause my thoughts on grad school for a year.

Granddaughter was just offered two nurse residencies a couple weeks ago. She chose mother baby at a hospital 10 miles distant from her home. Her grad date 18 December 2020.

Thank you so much for this, I’m starting week 4 of orientation in a stepdown unit and this is exactly what I needed to hear, even as an “older” new nurse in my late 30s and coming from another skilled profession. Can’t wait to check out your page.

Is 1 year as a new grad in the icu considered a “new nurse”? The senior nurses tell me not to be so hard on myself because I’m still new, but after 1 year- I don’t feel “new” and feel like I should know better by now. Professional confidence in myself is lacking and it affects my work. It’s hard.

Omg I love this video and you! I love your compassion to help others and to keep it real! I needed this video today but actually weeks ago but so glad I found it. I want to check out your videos you suggested for new nurses. This video is so on point how you feel as a new nurse 😢😭I am going through so many emotions as a new nurse it’s so crazy in the real world and so much as a new nurse on the floor at bedside. I was wondering if you have any recommendations on resources or books to help a new grad on an ortho med surg floor or even med surg in general. I’m definitely going to follow your tips here. Thank you so much!
