Social anxiety feels like you’re in a movie and everyone has a script—except you

social anxiety really is something people underestimate.. people just think you get shy or nervous, and blame you when you don't wanna do certain things or do certain actions, but it's SO much more than just "shyness".

Definitely relevant. Not being around people for over a year, I worry about socializing again 🥴

Here’s something that helps me since I’m just bad at talking to people: I sometimes just tell whoever I’m talking to that I’m bad at conversation and I get stressed about social stuff or something. It makes me feel better because then I know that the person knows I’m not good at talking and they will understand why I’m quieter and stuff.

i love how this channel takes social anxiety seriously, i feel like it’s usually portrayed as “everyone has it” and parents/adults don’t take it seriously because “it’s all in ur head/just a kid thing” like yeah it is but the fact that i feel like vomiting every morning before school isn’t just something to “get over”

The more you know about how people behave, the less nervous you are with them. One thing I've learned about people, is that they aren't focused on you. They are focused on themselves.

I hate it when people say "just get out of your comfort zone" First of all when the hell was being alone a comfort zone. I never felt comfortable having social anxiety. Its not easy to overcome it and I just wish some people could just understand. I love how you give us actual advice instead of telling us to get out of your comfort zone. And its not introversion or being shy. Those are totally different things.

My social anxiety has gotten even worst, simple things like buying and going outside is so uncomfortable. I'm scared of what my future would be if i keep going this way, their high expectation towards me makes me sick. At this age, i still rely on my mother, i cant do things without her. I just wish to stay at home the whole time and don't attend school😢😭

Bro, none of my family or friends understand how hard it is having social anxiety. Here is some reasons I have social anxiety. 1. I’m scared on the way I look since I’m fat and I’m scared to face it. 2. I hate the fact how I act like because I’m scared of how people find me like weird. 3. I never know how to strike up a conversation. It’s so hard to find a topic and I can never do it right because I mess up a lot. 4. I’m not even ready to meet new people and my family is just forcing me. 5. The way I dress. It’s so hard to try to look good for others but it always ends up being a flop and I get embarrassed. I hate the way I’m like this. I wish I was just in kindergarten not having any worries. I hate my life.

My social anxiety shifted from being scared of people for a whole new reason once the pandemic started. I have a goal to be able to go into public places without a mask once I am vaccinated but that idea scares the hell out of me. In my mind I will be wearing that mask forever. Thanks social anxiety!
