I am always left out and forgotten. I am always ignored. That's why I decided to lose all my friends. This video made me understand people more, but I don't care to make friends anymore. Thank you though.

Only real friends never leave a man behind.

It feels very reassuring reading the comments and realising that I'm not alone in being left out. There's always going to be people who are going through exactly what you're going through, and it's really helpful to know you're not alone.

There's these three people I considered friends. Today I met one of them on the bus and found out that she spent New Year's Eve with the other two friends along with some other company. I thought I belonged into that circle but I did not get invited. I was home alone for New Year's Eve. I feel so miserable now and I don't know what to think of it :(

This is so true I have “friends” but they never want to hang out with me. I see them on Instagram and Snapchat hanging out and having fun with their friends and it hurts me to see that they don’t invite me to do that or at least *meet* their friends as well. So I mostly just sit in my bed at home on the weekends being bored watching YouTube because most of my friends don’t care about me. 😔

The worst thing about this is that being left out makes you feel worthless and sad but you can't talk to anyone about it..

It's my friend's birthday today. I asked my best friend the night before if he's going. He didn't reply so I took it as a no. If he ain't going. I ain't. Then the next day, I check my Facebook and I see a pic of him and the rest of the squad that they're hanging out without me... It just hurts... (T_T)

out of my group of friends, i’m usually the one left alone. everyone else would much rather hang out with someone else than me, and it’s been making me feel really alone and sad for a while now.

As a psychologist who works with young people, I find this very good advise. Thanks Josh.

My friends are having a blast right now, earlier they spent a whole day st the beach now they are having a huge sleepover, the last time I had a sleepover with friends was in 2016, no one really invites me to anything now I just get used to staying at home ....I miss them

Well I have 2 best friends but they always hang out without me
They talk to each other and they always don't mind if they are distracting themselves but when I join them it seems like they don't want me there
They make me feel like a third wheel, I used to have only 1 BFF but then a new kid came and now I'm replaced I'm always left out to be alone and they don't even notice how I feel

Yea... I feel left out a lot... I'm actually going through a pretty tough time right now tbh... I've actually been needing some help with a lot of things, but I never really know who to go to.

*Do you ever feel left out? Like you don't belong?*

I know the easiest thing to say here is just "move on" or "get over it" but to me that's BAD ADVICE. Instead what you should do in a situation like that is to LEARN about what's going on.

Let me explain...

When people choose to ignore you or just not include you in something, your first gut reaction is to feel sad or angry or alone. However, how much time is invested into understanding why they didn't invite you?

In today's video I break down how to observe the behaviors of others so you can not only avoid feeling bad about being left out but to also learn how to practice compassion and understanding towards those who don't know how to verbalize how they feel.

As an extra tip on top of this video, when you feel left out by your friends always vocalize how you feel. You'd be surprised how many situations change for the better once people talk about them.

Enjoy the video for today, I would love to hear your thoughts!

My friends in high school never cared for me either. I was always left out of conversations. I was more like a lamp :(

I feel left out at the moment.
I always feel like a loner or like I'm being annoying and clingy, I stick around my friends and follow them around when I have nothing else to do.
Most of the time I feel like they are annoyed with my constant following and I guess bothering them.
My friends always seem to take pictures together, and tag each other in meaningful posts.
Although these things are small it still bothers me.
Most of the time I feel like they don't want me around or they are avoiding me.
When they wander off I tend to follow but my brain thinks I'm probably being clingy and annoying so I go back and sit by myself.
I don't like to be alone.
Any advice is appreciated.
