Then secondarily through a series of yoga asanas and exercises, the idea of this yoga class is not just to cure the pain but also build strength, mobility, and flexibility to help support and maintain a pain free life.

This Boho Beautiful yoga for back pain relief consists of postures and movements that are part of Mark Spicoluk's personal recovery practice that he used to heal his sciatica pain and disk herniation.

Remember, if you are healing and recovering from an injury please listen to your body and skip or modify any exercises or postures that do not feel right for you. And MAKE SURE to ask for guidance from your therapist or doctor before beginning any new exercise while healing an injury.

I'm 56 and have not had a regular yoga practice for two decades..until this morning when I followed you through this sequence. I was totally unprepared for the emotional release in the form of quiet tears that began to stream out of my eyes. I think I've been slowly atrophying over the last 7 years or so and have decided to do something about this in the form of a new commitment to the well being of my total constitution and life. Thank you both so much for all that you are doing to inspire and lead others into the unfolding nature of their greater life. I have been doing my exercises with you every day for two months! I have lumbar and thoracic hernias. You helped me a lot. Now I do other types of yoga with you, not just the back ones. My life has changed for the better. The muscles that support the spine have toned, so has the abdomen. I rarely have pain. I climb the mountain with 3 kg after 1 year and 6 months after the road accident (before accident - 15-20kg were în my back), I ride my bike off road again. Slowly, with small steps, I resume some of the activities I adored. I ran every day, now instead of jogging every day, the treatment of my health will be yoga every day! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for existing and doing good around you. I recommend it to everyone.

Mark, thank you so much for creating this video. I've been suffering from chronic back pain since 1991. I have extreme sciatic pain and sometimes it causes my left leg to completely give out. Especially when I am under stress and I am the caregiver of my 90 year old mother which is beyond words challenging mentally physically and emotionally. Today my leg gave out this morning and I was on the floor for half hour before I can get up and then again today while I was at CVS it gave out again and I was unable to walk. This evening I did your video and weeped through the whole video. Emotions released and the movements eased my pain significantly. Your creation of this video is a true blessing to me. It would be absolutely awesome if you could make more videos for back pain and sciatica issues. Your words, the movements and the choreography of this video were exceptionally outstanding. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

When I was at my worst with my L5 S1 herniation I was told surgery was imminent & I would probably never run or do anything that puts pressure on the disks again.
But through careful slow self aware dedicated daily exercises & yoga I made a very long and beautiful climb back onto my feet.
Insofar I could say that my back and body are in better shape now than they have been almost my entire life.

So if you are struggling with pain and injury.  
Please remember this... NO MATTER how dark it seems... just focus on the light inside.
because there is always hope.
And progress is slow.
But always worth it. 
No matter how small the steps.

I am five weeks postpartum with my first child and experiencing quite a bit of lower back and hip pain as my body heals and recovers. Thank you for making a yoga class for people with back issues. I stopped doing yoga when my flattened disks gave me sciatica over a year ago. While I eventually returned to sport, I never returned to yoga as I was too scared of injuring my back. The result is that I was constantly out of balance and lost my flexibility, which I am now paying with through injury. Currently unable to walk, cycle or swim I came back to yoga - looking for something I can do while I recover. I was so thrilled to find this yoga class - it was serendipity. Thank you again.
