In this intermediate workout, you’ll do exercises to strengthen your cardiovascular system and build muscle. It features three sets of four exercises - each set done twice. You can do this workout with or without weights.

April does this workout solo with Aiko (and Mochi!) sitting this one out.

Exercise Set 1

✅ Side Lunges
✅ Ab Pulldowns

Exercise Set 2
✅ Fast Rows
✅ Fast Feet
✅ Flys
✅ Step Out/Ins

Exercise Set 3
✅ Jumping Jacks
✅ Standing Twists
✅ Hamstring Curls
✅ Step out Press Downs

Always go at your own pace. If this workout is too difficult, do it without weights, slow down the tempo or try our beginner workouts and build up to this one! If this is easy for you, make it more challenging by increasing your tempo or adding more weight.

This was a great intermediate workout. I am in my late 60s but this is more up to my level although I so enjoy all the videos with you and your mom. I found you while contacting Covid, developing into pneumonia. My energy levels were practically null, so if I could do your videos twice a week I was good. You helped me get through that difficult time. I continue to follow you and your mom, especially on days where I don't have too much time to exercise, I can always fit you in. This intermediate level was great. I worked up a sweat. I hope to see more. Thanks for all you and your mom do to encourage and uplift the community near and far.

Not a beginner nor a senior but on some days I just feel not good/tired to do a tougher workout so I listen to my body. This was perfect for today, thank you. Love your friendly instructions.

I really like this one! I've been doing your beginners strength training for a few weeks and I notice the difference! My clothes are growing! I tried this intermediate today and I love it - it was fast and challenging for me (76) you were doing something that reminded me of boxing ... now I'll look for a beginner boxing YouTube video to add to my workouts with you and your wonderful mom!

Very much enjoy your intermediate workouts. Would love to see some a bit longer. I am in my early 70’s have been doing your routines a few times a week and feel the need for a bit more intensive workouts.

I really loved this workout as I feel I have progressed to this level - thanks to you and your mom. I missed Aiko and Mochi, but I really loved this level of intensity. It's good to work up a sweat and to feel like I am progressing. Thank you so much for giving everyone something to strive for. I was really proud when I was able to complete this workout.

I'm happy because I completed this workout today. Some exercises I had to go at the slower rate or not use the weights, but I got through it and felt like I had accomplished something new and more challenging. Thanks, April.

I’m 74, I was a little hesitant to do this class. But I’m glad I did it. It is just enough cardio and weight for a little sweat. I believe it is all credited to your others classes which I’ve followed for a while. They have made me stronger. Thanks again. Blessings to your family.

I used this workout for Day 5 of the *1 Week Strength Training Plan - Intermediate* .
I chose it because it combined challenging upper body moves with cardio at the same time, but I realized later that it includes a lot of lower body and core strength moves also, so I guess it's just as well that I skipped a day between Day 4 and Day 5 of the challenge. (I had intended to do this workout yesterday, but I was too rushed before work and too tired afterwards.) I used 3-pound dumbbells through most of the workout, sometimes doubling them up to hold both together, and I tried 5-pound dumbbells with some of the later moves. I just read my previous comment about this video from 2 years ago and see that I had used 5-pound weights all the way through back then -- so now I'm determined to work my way back up to that level again! If I can motivate myself and have enough time to do another short workout later in the day, I might try one that focuses exclusively on upper body strength (but that's a big *_IF_* 😉).
