Is faith a good work? Is faith a gift from God that he has to decisively cause us to choose in order to get full credit for our salvation?

I know there is a lot more to cover on this specific question and I will be posting more videos in the coming weeks. Don't forget to subscribe!

Amen!

work = deed
faith = belief
belief ≠ deed

Therefore…

faith ≠ work

Amen 🙏 Faith is mans response from the heart that comes by hearing the word of God. Romans 10:10 Roman’s 10:17. It is not a work, it is not a mystery gift given to some and not others. Even unbelievers know the truth but suppress it Romans 1:18. Even Satan believes and fears James 2:19.

Really enjoying the content and seeing how the Lord is using you. I know there are people twisted in this doctrine and some, like my self, are confused and hindered by it. I thank God, he has set me free from the confusion and condemnation this doctrine brought upon me. I pray God continues to use you all to shed light on scripture for others to be set free as well. This doctrine twists Gods character and twist scripture and twist minds of men and the fruit it bears is very rotten. I thank God for men like yourself who are bold and willing to defend Gods word. All glory to God🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏

A simple support for this is James 2:14-26. James makes a distinction between faith and works. Even though both faith and works are active in Christian’s life they are not synonyms.

That is how you exegete a verse! Unlike Calvinists that will pick out a couple of buzzwords, connect them to their framework, and then use that connection as a reason to ignore all the other details.

Yes, right-on Gordon. God: "I gave you free will, so you can try & work/earn it on your own... good luck with that? Or you can simply have faith/trust that I sent my Son to do the work for you/atone for your sins?" (Hyperbole Folks, for illustration's sake). John 6:28-29... portrayed perfectly by the Thief on the cross: No church membership, No church attendance, No baptism, No prayer journal, No scripture memorization listed, he simply affirmed Jesus' deity. Faith/Belief is not a work, it is what pleases God. That's why this system needs reproved.

Works=doing
Works=I can do it
Faith=I can't do it, so I put my faith in Jesus, who has done it for us

why didnt you read the rest of the chapter to verse 31 where he says "Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law."

First I love you brother and what follows is Iron sharpening Iron. How do you reconcile Hebrews 12:2 which says that authorship and finishing are from Jesus Christ. Or Ephesians 2:8-9 that says our salvation is a gift. Or Ephesians 1:4 that says he has saved us from the foundation of the earth. Jeremiah and Ezekiel both say that God will give us a spirit and heart to know God.

Fundamentally I believe this: if it wasn’t for unmerited favor from a perfect and holy God I would not know my Heavenly Father. Not one is righteous, not one is good, including myself.

How would you respond when someone contends that faith IS a work because of John 6:29?

“That we helped God save ourselves”… I hope you hear yourself brother. Love all my brothers and sisters in faith, but here I see you are in error my boy. I believe someone can be saved without knowing the full doctrines of grace after all look at the thief on the cross he didn’t have much time to grow in truth and knowledge at all but God granted him mercy and at that moment… in a blink of an eye he was born again and justified. That’s beautiful… anyways here more from Romans 3 for context purposes

Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin. But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.
Romans 3: 19-28

I have a serious question…do you think Calvinist are going to hell?

And what is "the law of faith?" Who makes laws? Does man make a law of his own faith autonomously? No. Gravity is a law, of God. Man doesn't create his own gravity.
The "law of faith" is a work of God alone. Its the faith OF Jesus Christ alone that is imputed to His elect at the time of regeneration, then, like gravity, the law OF Christs faith is working in the elect sons of God.

Philippians 3:9 KJV
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the 👉faith of Christ, 👈 the righteousness which is 👉of God by faith:👈

Galatians 2:16 KJV
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the 👉faith of Jesus Christ, 👈even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, 👈and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
