Calvinism can be proven false with the following 2 verses:

Read them carefully:

“you were also RAISED WITH HIM THROUGH FAITH in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And when you were dead in your wrongdoings and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He MADE YOU ALIVE together with Him, having forgiven us all our wrongdoings, ”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭

These verses say 4 things:

FAITH precedes being raised to LIFE from the dead

This happens while we are dead in our sins and when we are ungodly.

This happens before God spiritually circumcises us and frees us from our bondage to the flesh and sin.

Which means: Ungodly Humans - who are spiritually dead in their sins - and who are uncircumcised and are thus still in bondage to their flesh/sin HAVE THE ABILITY TO HAVE FAITH.

That definitively refutes Calvinism.

In Reformed theology, there's then two sources of life: one outside of Christ and one within Christ.

Jesus talks about it in John 3. Born again = regeneration. A dead sinner cannot respond to the Gospel on his own. He is first brought to life by the Spirit, given faith, and the response is belief. Belief is what we do, God doesn't believe for us. But belief would be impossible without the Spirit

The life spark of regeneration that precedes faith is when the Holy Spirit touches us and readies us to accept the gospel which then leads to faith. Looking back I can see it now. I thought it was me choosing to accept Jesus slowly through curiosity. It wasn’t. It was all God. Calling me home. The spark/regeneration happened several years before I became born again. Then there was a quickening that happened over 2-3 months that lead to me breaking down in my kitchen, feeling my complete and utter wretchedness while at the same time feeling and knowing God’s unconditional love and forgiveness. I was raised Catholic, became a new ager for 13 years and thought seriously of becoming Jewish for 3 years. God called me home. John 17.

We are dead in trespasses & sins & the cross is foolishness to the natural man. He makes us alive & quickens us so we can hear His call.

I can definitely see how that makes sense cause dead men can't do anything but not even the calvinist believes that deadness is literal otherwise we would just be nothing but wicked and evil 24/7 and we are not. We have some good or at the very least the ability to do some good things like helping someone in need.

If a gospel includes anything to do with YOU and YOUR WORKS, it’s taking eyes off the Lord’s FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS.

Sin debt Paid in full. Sanctification is a work of the Holy Spirit in us. You won’t lose your salvation based on your performance.

How many poor souls have lost their lives believing they just weren’t good enough to be saved once accepting this so called gospel of Calvinism?

Instead of inspecting fruit of others, go lift them up and help them in where they fall short like a real brother or sister.

God is Sovereign completely in election.

I grew up Arminian in my theology. You cannot in good conscience read any of Gods Word particularly Romans and Ephesians….and pop out the other side Arminian. Gods Word is abundantly clear on this issue if you repent of your man centered desire of salvation. The only thing you contribute to your salvation is sin.

I’m (personally) convinced that the Arminian view of salvation flirts with heresy and is in many ways responsible for most of the weakness in the modern evangelical church.

Your logic is not enough. When it is spoken of regeneration before faith it is not temporal but logical, the only thing that is trying to make clear is that nothing I do towards salvation comes by my will power or understanding but through God’s as the cause and efficacy of what I do.

You seem sincere. But you fail to comprehend the depth of your depra ity. The gospel being preached in concert with the work of the holy spirit is of such a nature that regeneration, hearing, faith happens in such an instaneous way that you would be hard pressed to isolate the components or order thereof. The TULIP paradigm was not a promulgation of the reformers. It was a response to those who would seek to place regeneration in the work of the unbeliever. Since ALL scripture refutes the concept that man seeks after God, you are arguing against the order of creation. God is the savior of man, and his arm alone work it, and there is no one who joins him in it. Isaiah's chapter on jesus arm doing this is a picture of the way he views it. You're seeking to assist God in salvation. This is the case never. This channel, like sotrriology 101, sucks onto the teaching of God, while seeking to pair it with a seeker friendly perspective. It takes glory from God. It is a shame.
