This is going to be a 6 part series on how to get a stronger bench press, squat, and deadlift. Who better to explain it all than the one and only Dave Tate. We headed over to Elitefts for this epic 6 part increase your strength series.

Today we are talking about the squat. We have five exercises that are guaranteed to increase your squat. Personal feedback:
This is spot on. I hope it encourages anyone that comes across this video. There’s nothing like getting over our own limitations; if body issue is one, this will motivate you in realizing otherwise. I’ve also recently (after an extended break) incorporated HLR and it’s working. The marshmallow is turning into a rock, even if my body fat isn’t quite there. Godspeed to you all.

Never ignore training your core. When I started training I did next to no core work. I did it but I had no idea how to properly do it. Now I train core almost everyday in continuous time intervals varying between several different exercises (scissors, flutter kicks, hanging leg raises, rocky reverse crunches, crunch and twist, russian v tucks, elbow to knee tucks, jackknifes, etc.) I also throw in some weighted ab work. As soon as I started gaining core strength, my squats started going up quickly. I can now do working sets above my body weight. This only took a couple of months.

I personally keep a full ATG paused front squat/and or gobblet squat done a moderate weight to form failure...a few sets weekly solely for mobility maintainence purposes.
