Strengthen your core in the water!
Strengthening your abs can be helpful to support your joints.
Especially if you have knee arthritis, hip arthritis or spine arthritis- core strengthening can be incredibly helpful for walking, stair climbing and standing. If you have difficulty standing to do exercises or if you simply enjoy pool exercises- this video is for you!
As a physical therapist and osteoarthritis specialist, Dr. Alyssa has put together 4 exercises that directly work the core that are done in the water. You can use the water as resistance to increase the difficulty of the exercises.
Being in the water also helps to control for balance and can offload the joints so they aren't as painful. There are tons of ways to modify and/or increase the intensity of these exercises.
