Jefferson deadlift is the second most respected deadlift after of course the Zercher deadlift also known as the deadlift deadlift

Can you hear that? Sounds like Rick the Stick flying into a rage

If you’re a woodwind player this analogy will make more sense: lifting with a rounded back is like leaning back in your chair while playing. There’s nothing wrong with it, and it could be beneficial in some cases, but beginners are taught to avoid this in order to avoid bad habits that could lead to injuries down the line.

Jefferson Deadlifts are great for grapplers as you can mimic your stance which makes the movement more specific to the sport

"not rounding your back" is a platitude. A slight rounding in the upper back and even the lower back is fine. As long as you keep tight enough not to collapse and screw your spine up completely.

Yh Jefferson curls are great. Whoever that jefferson guy was, he knew what he was doing

AtlasPowerShrugged has some great information on training the spine through a full range of motion, good content

I have some pain in my left shoulder. I took some time off lifting and when I started again my shoulder was miserable when doing shoulder press. A few months in and my shoulders are stronger and the pain is gone

That last clip was the first time i’ve seen you struggle i think

If you round your back you are simply in ligamentous support.

Of all the lifts I've ever tried, jefferson curls are by far the scariest, and for precisely this nocebo.

I didn't know that those are actually a thing. I just do it sometimes for fun lol

Matt, love your videos and I look forward to every one that comes out.

Any way you can do a video about whether training deficit (slight) deadlifts exlusively will help you meet day?

I’m using a small enough deficit that it doesn’t change leverage. I am just assuming that at my next meet, pulling from the floor will be infinitely easier
