Here is a hug for those who never got one when they needed one or need one now🙆‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙌 Here is a few words of comfort for those who never heard them when they needed to hear them "It's going to be okay, you're alright, you're safe, you're loved and cared for. You will get through this. You're not alone." And some words to carry you forth - Remember You are stronger than you think, braver than you feel, smarter than you know, - life is tough but so are you! Peace and happiness be with you all 🙏✌💝

Fear is a mindset so remember that, it’s not a curse, it’s not harmful, it’s a natural human response, your body is doing what it should be doing to protect you, anxiety and fear go hand in hand and as a chronic sufferer I wish I could tell myself during past panic attacks that I am safe and not in any danger

Telling a constricted (stressed) person to take a deep breath invites them to realize just how tight everything is inside.
For some people that may be okay, but for others  (like me!)  it can feel terrifying. It can feel claustrophobic, suffocating, and absolutely triggering. Deep breaths are a goal for folks like us  —  not the starting place.

The good news is that there are countless alternatives to get grounded, present, and mindful of the body that don't involve the breath. Here are a few to get you started:
1. Focus on a part of the body that feels neutral.
2. Name five things.
3. Listen to sounds near and far.
4. Follow the breath rather than trying to control it.

yes, after years of diaphragmatic breathing, I can take a deep breath without panicking. But it took work.

I have officially fallen in love with this voice. It's familiar and comforting. As if a friend is there talking you down from an attack. I could listen to this over and over.

I got to the bit about letting the tightness in my chest go, I started crying. And when I got to the bit about becoming free of suffering I started sobbing. It was as if someone finally understood about me and the anxiety disorder I have been suffering from for a long time! Thank you so much, this really helped me. Hopefully next time I listen to it I will be able to get all the way through without crying :)

learning to acknowledge/accept internal discomfort (not like it, want it or give into it), helps decrease the struggle to avoid that discomfort - when we struggle or fight with anything, we create greater struggle - like quicksand. when we stop fighting with uncomfortable feelings, we decrease internal suffering. when we think we should only feel "good" or "positive" feelings, we deny (e.g. struggle) that it's part of the human condition to also feel unpleasant / "negative" feelings. the wide range of human emotions is part of the whole experience. i find relief by normalizing, acknowledging and being mindful of the discomfort (not pathologize it). we can own our feelings and thoughts - or our feelings and thoughts can own us; I find this meditation helps diminish anxious and panic symptoms by de-fusing our 'true' selves from unpleasant feelings; thanks MindfulPeace

This was my first meditation, now I meditate every day. I remember how bad I was when I heard this one, my mother put it on me, I was with a friend and we both did it. I remember that I had been crying and suffering from anxiety for two days (and for the first time). And that day I experienced the calm of meditating for the first time. Right after I fell asleep and didn't come back until the next day. I come back to listen to it from time to time. Today is a really hard day with a lot of worry and anxiety and helps me a lot. Thank u again.
