My ex was finalizing her divorce when we met. I took care of her and her children for 10 years. Found out she cheated on me while I was overseas, used drugs, snored pain killers, and lied on her way out of our relationship blaming me for domestic violence and rape. Luckily the judge can smell BS when he see it and she didn’t get what she wanted. I got my house back, she has to move out and live back with her parents, unemployed at 42yrs old. Now her only control is keeping my children from me against court agreement and again her bad decision will drive her to lose the children as well…one fuck up after the other…they never learn and never improve! It’s pathetic…like a cancer within society!

This is so true. The narcs I know are all drug addicts and alcoholics. Or have some sort of habit to overly spending like my mother who's a narc she doesn't do Substance but she shops and hoards and tells herself it's for future dinners and family get together...family is divided asf right now and I don't see it getting any better because they all suffer from some form of this duafunction and are too prideful and egotistical to take accountability for any of their actions lying and saying they healing in their own ways lol yeah ok...my ex was a set addict perc head weed smoker cigarette smoker etc he was one of the worst ppl I've ever met in my life still get disgusted thinking about who he truly is. Yep. 30yrs married. He left 3 months ago because I got of lies, gaslighting, blanking me (I didn't know why), prostitutes, texting women, some violence, never being able to hold down a job for more than a couple of this is the stuff I know about. He is now off with divorced mates, drinking and whatever...he has emptied our bank account and refuses to put his wages in there....he doesn't know if or when he wants to come to the outside world he is mild mannered, quiet and a big gentle am the problem!
My heart is broken, but my eyes are wide open.
I don't have friends but I am learning to let people in.
I hope he stays away long enough for me to heal and be strong enough to not take him back.

Left after a couple of years. Considering myself lucky. He couldn't stop drinking and acting like an ashhole. So I left. It's been about two years. Still healing. If you see the red flags early- leave. If it feels too good to be true- it is. If your gut says something listen. Oh ps- go to therapy after the breakup. Helps.

Yea some ppl (covert narc) does this intensely but i predict this has become a second human nature today anyway. Monkey branching into relationships is so common that you cant call everyone a narc. If thats true then everyone today has a big void in them and addictions are very prevalent.

I can say i had the humdinger of them all, girl i had a thing from since high school I finally had a shot with, after 3 months of crazy love bombing that was it, the real person showed up. I spent the next 3 yrs trying to get to the bottom of the lie. All I knew was my body shut down out of nowhere 6 months in.
