The Most Effective Exercise to Speak Spanish Fluently

preview_player
Показать описание

The secret to speaking Spanish fluidly is to become familiar with difficult sounds, and the best way to do that is through deliberate practice.

Anytime you hear or read native Spanish, don't simply consume it—focus on production. Repeat what you hear, word for word.

The first step is reading or listening (most people are really good at this).

The second step is to figure out the meaning of what you consumed (you can use dictionaries or natives for this).

The third (critical) step is to repeat what you think you heard and to compare it with what you actually consumed.

Después de un año de practicar tu método, ahora puedo reproducir cualquier frase del primer intento. Thanks Nacho, you are the best.

I approve of this. This is exactly what I did when I was studying English. I memorized many expressions, and memorized possible answers to many questions. I created many scenarios and scripts in my mind using many expressions spoken by native speakers. Then I also started reading a lot of novels and news articles on the internet. My sentence structure then grew exponentially.

I'll try to do the same in my journey with Spanish. Hearing it from someone who has conquered the Spanish language is very reassuring.

Never heard of this approach before because I thought memorizing was bad for language learning, and I was instead one to improvise... but apparently since that isn't getting me where I want to be I'm gonna have to give this a shot. I'll update soon.

This makes so much sense. Especially the part about hearing the words but not understanding the meaning. I take that as progress but one thing that I do to kind of force the meaning is to repeat the word or phrase and act like I already understand the meaning. It's a weird form of LARPing but it seems to work for me.

Genial! Llevo mucho tiempo con ganas de superar el nivel intermedio de espanol, pero siempre me sale unas excusas, principalmente, el temor a hablar con hispanohablantes. Tu canal esta ayudandome, gracias! Favor de continuar!

I also thought of memorizing lines in Spanish after listening to them, but I found it too tedious. But I guess it's the best way to go *sighs*

Thanks Nacho!

Nacho, Thanks, These lessons help me very much. I have been teaching myself for a long time and I have no one to practice with. But these exercises do "train" you brain to be in "Spanish" mode. Thanks again .
