As an extremely skinny weak dude. "Dumb excercises" like these really helped me get to those first couple baby steps. It helped me a lot. Now I can bicep curl 75lbs...

If it doesn't work for you, move on...

consider:
-beginners exist
-not everyone has the same fitness or physique goals as you
-not everyone wants to lift weights and may prefer different workouts like pilates
-how someone else exercises really doesn’t affect you at all

Hi, physiotherapist here. Please understand that not everyone has the same capacity as a beginner in exercising. The main goal for this type of exercise is control and muscle activation, which targets both biceps and pecs, and more on the red muscle fibers.

my only issue is probably the part that she edited it in a way that it gives you bulkier muscles (if regularly done it may result to a more lean upper arm), and that she didn't do the full range of motion that will maximize the results. Still, I wouldn't call the exercise useless.

As someone who’ve never worked out and just started this was extremely difficult to do, yes some people can’t even curl oxygen

This is actually a very effective workout, the only things you could change to maximize your results are to widen your arms so they're parallel and hold a weighted barbell as you curl

You know... I watched this and thought, "he is right, that arm workout doesn't seem like it would do anything..." Then I tried it, and I definitely feel it. For me it seemed to work nicely, and I workout regularly. But everyone is different.
