If you want some briny sea flavor but are vegan, make some fermented seaweed 🎉
I fully rehydrate the kombu and wakame and add them to a jar with some salt and water. Leave it on the counter awhile to ferment and then keep it in the fridge. It smells strongly of the sea.ish and briny.
Fermenting deepens the flavor of the seaweed and when you add it and some juice to kimchee paste it gives a lil sea umami flavor!!!! Ive had a jar going for at least a year and it hasnt gone off ❤🎉
