#5. That’s called dėgage. I am a dancer in college. 7 years ago, I had a stroke cause by a rare blood clot. My balance is weak. (Also, I have Broca’s Aphasia. I thank Bob and working behind the scenes. I appreciate him. I am practicing pliės, tondues, dėgages, etc to get back to normal again. Thank you all for teaching me. By the way, I have no pain doing the exercises, only soreness after a day. The soreness tells you it’s working.

Just a follow - up from my last comment. I have been doing the first three exercises three time a week along with three hundred meters of backward walking and one hundred and fifty meters of sideways walking ( alternating every ten steps). Here is what I have noticed: decreased hip pain (almost gone), better balance - that was a surprise - and more confidence going down stairs. I do three sets of ten for each exercise. Thanks for the video it is extending my health and mobility span (if that is a concept.)

Thanks for explaining gluteal amnesia and anterior femoral glide syndrome. I had hip FAI surgery last summer and have done all these exercises in PT, but never learned the mechanism for how the hip can “wear out” and how essential gluteal strength is to continue to protect the hip for life. I’m motivated. Many thanks!

I'm glad you corrected the mechanics of locking the supporting knee while on the stair, pelvic tilt. That means so much.

I am so glad I saw your video. Earlier this year I went to a physical therapist to help with exercises and I didn't really do them because I can't get on the floor and my bed is too lumpy and soft. So I appreciate your exercises that will help me strengthen those muscles without being on the floor because it is difficult to get up from that position. I'll check out other videos you have but I can start now with these! God always has a remedy! Thanks guys😊😊😅

I appreciate you guys so much, though I don't often comment. AT 59, Ive been advised for "bone on bone" and severe arthritis (right hip) to have hip replaced. As a former fitness professional (and competitive lifter) who has been sitting at a desk too many hours, too many years most recently my gluteals certainly have experienced amnesia. The waddle has been my walk for the past year- meanwhile my left ankle seems to be getting the worst of it...less so the knee, but it's begun to also alert me I need to address this - I was told the window for exercise as remedy has passed - I am familiar with all of these exercises and so appreciate the service you (Bob, Brad, and Mike now) are providing). I am taking the next 3 weeks to be vigilant (just finished a round of in real life PT too so the timing is perfect) with these moves. My last ditch effort. I used to believe I could fix everything with exercise...that was a lifetime ago. Now I just want to be mobile again...I've limited so much of what I used to do (walking in mornings etc) . I will let you know how it goes...On a side note my hubby bought your anchors for the wall in our home gym awhile back - I have no excuse (just I read and write for both work and pleasure- from one desk to another it seems). Is it unrealistic to think I can avoid surgery ? Can you direct me to any of your videos where you discuss things to ask and consider with regard to hip surgery that might help me have a better experience from a PT's perspective? Thank you in advance - keep up the great service you are doing by providing excellent information and help for many! Enthusiastically, Dawn

B&M - thanks for your healthy hip exercises. Also, enjoying that your shirts compliment each other. It was nice to see Mike smile near the end.

I’m so glad you have made these 2 videos. I have just been told by my Doctor, after an xray, that I have ‘wear and tear’ in my hip joint. I usually do a walk every day for about 1 hour which is uncomfortable to start but eases off after a while. I have one question. Should I continue this? I am in the UK and there is a 3 month wait to see a physiotherapist so your video is great for me. Thank you so much.
