The first hip exercises are pelvic tilts, bridges, and clamshells. These are great for strengthening your pelvic muscles, glutes, and hamstrings.

Then there is the 4 way hip lying down. This is hip flexion (straight leg raise), hip abduction, hip adduction, and prone hip extension. These are great for all the muscles around the hip including, gluteus medius and gluteus maximus, IT band, hamstrings, hip flexors, and others.

Now for sitting you will do a seated hip flexion and a squat at your chair. These are great because you can do them at work, or if you have been sitting for a long time.

The final hip exercise is a lunge. It sounds pretty simple, but if done right, it can be pretty challenging. You don’t have to bring your knee all the way to the floor, and you can use a target if you need one.

I sit 12 hours a day at my job and my hips started to lock up. I’ve been trying to walk more but I get home with the worst hip pains. Doing this everyday now to help my hips, thank you!

didn't realize how bad my hip injury was until I did these! Because of Covid I haven't had the chance to meet an athletic trainer, and this video was a great substitute. Thank you!

My hips were locked it was difficult for me to walk properly..
I walked approx 3 km for hip movement and came home, still no relief.
Then at 8:10 pm i started looking for hip exercise, i found this video, i followed step by step. At 8:27 pm i got relief in pain..
Great exercise mam.. 🙏

DR. JO’s EXERCISES WORK!!!! Do yourself a favor - Dr Jo’s exercises work, are simple to follow and fun to watch. Had a very bad ankle sprain in 2017 (ligaments and tendon torn)., which affected everything - gait, hamstrings hips, knees, etc. In 2018 I had right hip muscle pain but nothing relieved it…. Until I did these exercises. My advice - do them every day, carefully, intentionally and consciously. Pain not only the right hip, but also had a very painful right shoulder, knee and wrist. Since I’ve been doing these (and shoulder exercises) I feel so much better. Dr Jo you are the best therapist I’ve seen yet - even better than the PT’s I’ve seen in my town. Thank you so very much!!

Perfect! This is EXACTLY what I needed. I am disabled and appreciate exercises that I can do safely. My hips are starting to pop out of joint when Im just laying in bed. It doesn't hurt, but I know I need to exercise them more. So THANK TOU!

I have been trying to recover from a car accident for 4 years now. I was told I have performs syndrom, causing hip hinging g, that has caused misalignment.of pelvic, causing knee on oposite side to hinge to the left. Thank you Dr. Joseph for.helping me get on the road to recovery. Hopefully I can start teaching again soon....and not have to have a hip replacement.
