How to negotiate? here are a few classic steps!

Captain Jack Sparrow is such a memorable protagonist because of his high level of emotional intelligence and how he can always seem to get the better of people in negotiations. He understood that the situation needed a 'deal making negotiation' and how to use Barbossa's greed and pride against him. The negotiation was stacked against Jack from the beginning; Barbossa isn't dependent on Jack at all, yet Jack still managed to obtain a deal that fit into his planning.

This video was a great example of negotiation skills. My favorite part of this video is when Jack uses trust to gain leverage. Jack is a skilled negotiator and it shows. This video was a great way to relate it to our class reading.

Jack's is so fun to watch. He's a great bluffer and imaginative with these words. He is compelling and never overly emotional which makes him a good negotiator. He has had a long time to develop his skills.

This video clip does a great job at explaining what Jack is doing to negotiate from a difficult position to actually getting to negotiate. He knew what the other person wanted and used that towards his advantage. He took his previous knowledge and experience to create a plan of negotiating.

Jack did a great job showing his negotiation skills. He shows several different tactics to persuade them. My favorite is reverse psychology, but he gets what he wants and he does so effortlessly. He has such great charm and talks himself out of a bad situation while being respectful.

This is a great example of negotiation. I've seen this movie many times and now after learning about negotiation it is cool being able to relate it to what I am learning.

This video was great because it shows not only the different tactics you could use throughout negotiations, but it also shows how Jack uses these tactics based off what he knows about Barbossa. Jack is also able to use his natural wit and charm to keep everyone in a relaxed and jovial state which aids in having a positive and successful negotiation process.

This movie is a perfect example of negotiating! One of the best lines is when Jack Sparrow says, " Why fight when you can negotiate!" His character is best known for this skill set which makes him so appealing in this movie. His effectiveness to gain leverage through trust and communication is the pure reason he is able to talk his way out of anything in this movie.

This video is a great example of showing several different tactics in a span of less than 4 minutes. Each tactic was explained in a concise way and helped me understand the reason why Jack Sparrow considered these several tactics in order to gain leverage.

This is a great example of negotiation tactics as well as scare tactics by putting pressure on Barbossa in a nice approach and lure him into thinking that he got the better deal.

The last time that I saw this movie was years ago. I remember watching this part and being so fascinated with Jack's negotiation skills and whit. The comical fact is that you would not realize it initially but this scene really does teach some helpful skills. The fact is that when you are negotiating, you will need to tap into numerous skills in order to appeal to the other party. Jack tries various angels in order to achieve his goal.

This video showed a great example of negotiation skills since jack uses his smooth talk and exaggerated speech to gain the trust of other pirates. At 1:26 Jack is showing respect to the captain and offers him an earning deal.

The video was a great example of a negotiation and was clear on the break downs and what each point meant. The key points in the video was confidence, respect, cede, set a goal and make a contract, which was how Jack ultimately was able to get what he was seeking while still satisfying the opposing party.

After watching the YouTube video I realized that it gave very good/ different examples of skills for negotiation. I did like how Jack was a great character that shows how a skilled negotiator should be like which is how negotiation should be like to have a good result for both parties.

This video did a great job explaining different negotiation tactics. As they would appear on the screen it would give you a great example from the film Pirates of the Caribbean using that specific negotiation tactic. Very easy to understand and learn from!

This was such a great example of negotiations. Jack was very calculated, using reverse psychology and scare tactics to get the outcome he wants. He even used his charms to help persuade.

I like the part where he uses reverse physiology to stop his actions. When he hears he might be in danger he stops completely and takes a listen to what Jack has to say!

Jack knows how Barbossa operates, giving him the upper hand on how to approach the negotiation and appeal to all the right places in order to get what he wants

Great example of negotiation. I think it is very important to always come with confidence especially when not in a position of power.
